Kevin VanOrd slashes his way through Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures in this video review.
I also found out if you go to their main website they have a "ENDLESS" trial to try it out. Im downloading it right now actually and its 7GBs. Im downloading @ 1.0MB/s (which isnt my max, but still its quick even though its 1:56am eastern USA.) (I thought that would be very helpful to people out there thinking about trying this game. After looking around , I cant believe this game actually.... well it didnt die, but Im suprised I haven't been told to play it yet(thinking the population may be small, but from what I was told, it actually pretty decent, and you will have people playing with you.) Im sure its no WoW population, but i bet its acceptable. From the craftin system, to the guild cities, to the combat system, this game seems really good. While downloading this MMO I was of course looking up information and it blows me away theres not a HUGE community, but Im guessing people left, left cause of the bugs, which from what I heard are mainly fixed. I also heard many people that left over issues and now back cause the game is alot more polished. Im currently waiting for many games to come out. Im still into WoW and play it eveyday and still have goals for myself to finish and yet not bored, but deff lookin for more games to play as I wait for my favorite squeal Diablo 3 to come out, and some other favorites including Dungeon Siege 3.
I just really found out about this MMO and came here to see what the review actually had to say. They didnt meation anything about the Guild Cities and how everything is crafted by person. Its very player driven also.
@nugXL and people like my self, who are tired of your point and click mmo's who will be joining you in Hyboria
Couldn't agree with you more Danzg49. Age of Conan has just been getting better, and better. Contrary to popular belief, there are many people playing Age of Conan, along with more and more players that are coming back.
Amazing game, alot has been fixed since launch and it has the greatest soundtrack in a game to date. Beautiful, intelligent, and mature describe this amazing accomplishment, Age of Conan.
I played this game for a few months after it was released but as soon as WotLC was released every1 stopped playing, there were no ppl to play with so i stopped. I never realized ppl still play, i guess i'll get a new copy later on.
I hate the fact that ppl criticize this game incessantly. All the "gave the return trial another shot and uninstalled the game after 5 min" is just bs. I got to play the game 1 year ago after launching on American servers and it wasn't as buggy as some ppl claim. True, PvP was atrocious but that's because of some truly retarded players and unbalanced guilds. Now, after a 9 months break, I got back to the game and let me tell you: it ROCKS! I currently moved to the UK, so I can compare the European servers with the American ones and the difference is abysmal. Not only that the subsequent patches radically changed the game content completely but also, the prayers' community is a lot more mature now and...well, fun! I still occasionally play WoW, don't get me wrong, but AoC takes my whole time now... It's just an incredibly fun ride and I recommend it to anyone! Stop throwing so much s#^& at FunCom and just enjoy the game for its worth! Cya on Crom!
I had a lvl 60 Dark Templar during launch and quit due to content issues and decided to come back during the 2-week free period and this game is a great contender. If you're looking for a mature alternative to WoW (content wise and player wise, WoW at this point is for children), AoC is a worth your money and time.
I have been playing for about 3 weeks and I just love this game... Its good to look at and the flow of lvling is smooth and fun to play. I guess it started out with bugs and crap but I have no idea because I just started playing and it has been a smooth ride for me... now a lvl 60 pom.
well over 5 million people play WoW it may be hard to turn them around. What is going to be needed to top it is something thats free and awesome.
I have this game and wow i like wow better because more people play it and in AoC the servers are empty and feel lifeless
Great game, way better than WOW.Superior graphics, sound, more realistic gameplay and the story itself make this game a winner.By the time i bought the game, the patches allready came and had fixed things up...
to "joeleos" it is coming out on the 360 http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/ageofconanhyborianadventures/index.html?tag=result;title;2
PLEASE Do Not Look at this Review Score and Buy this game. The Person Reviewing this game Clearly Did not Play this game To Lv Cap. Sure AoC is Fun When trying to Lv up for the 1st time, Before the lv50-80 Hump. At max Lv there is not enough content to make that time Spent Worth the Price of admission. Read there Message boards and see what a mess that place is. If your Reading this looking for something new to play, Check out Warhammer online Its a Far better Run game. Dont take my word on it. go to Google and type in "Funcom Stock". That should show u How good this game is.
wierd, none of the downloads work for me Edit: The lowres worked for me. Awesome review! The game looks great. I'll have to check it out in a couple of months once those bugs get fixed.
