Innovative, immersive, highly addictive, and underappreciated - Arx Fatalis is another smashing RPG success for Xbox! It may take you considerable effort to actually track this game down, but it you are looking for that extra little something in an RPG then it is well worth the effort!
While the game itself is very dark, and the graphics are nothing to brag about in comparison to other more popular games, Arx Fatalis offers a rich story and compelling gameplay unlike any other game of its kind.
The magic system in Arx is one of the most notable qualities, where the player must actually draw out the mystic symbols that represent the power words for the desired spell. While this level of interaction in the spell casting process may be too much for some gamers to bare, I found it to be rather refreshing and immensely creative.
Environmental interaction is another one of the striking features that Arx brings to the table. Most of your environment will be able to be manipulated in some way, which helps to compensate the fact that most of the time most of the areas you will be in are very enclosed making things very claustrophobic at times.
Overall, this game is well worth the effort it will take to find, and the money it will cost to acquire. I would recommend it to any avid RPG console gamer that I meet!

The dark layout of this RPG and story line are interesting and unfortunatley only a little above average overall .
