I think the part with the kid could have been left out. Choosing not to learn about other countries just because "you will never see them" is just pure ignorance... at least in our time.

Will you rise to the task and fight for what you hold dear?
How did @ctwatters nail that job as the second character in this trailer?
when this games born assassin s creed ,hitman, prince of pertia, darksidars, godfather and god of war thy take my hart and make the empire of play and enjoy in it
OMG i hate it, it is so lame USA AND UK ARE so close Allies now, they bitching so much in USA revolution it died 30k man and after this they externimate nearly all indians and brought in slavery nearly 15 million black ones. Those are principles of one country and they showing this lame videos just to get money SO LAME.
@DDay808 hey are you from the middle east?
coz you sound so anti-America.
@DDay808 dude wat the heck are you trying to say lol. Its a game about the Revolution, the brits are always the bad guys. Regardless of what the country did after they won independence doesn't diminish the struggle of those who fought the most powerful country of the time.
It's funny that people think Britain is the enemy in AC3 when both Britain and The Patriots have Templars in them, which has been revealed already.
@shadowmage101 it's not that, maybe you dont know about colony. when you're forced to leard a distoted history, hided from the truth, you will not say like this.
This is another time where the "RISE" concept has come up. Clearly, it's a theme of the game but I wonder how that translates for the Assassin and not just the Americans.
When i decide not to learn about the history of a country i will never see.... hmm so that means there is no reason to learn about the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks or anyone else.....
Wrong wrong wrong !
"Kaos basically forced to use North Korea as antagonist in Homefront, says former employee" maybe UBISOFT is forced to put BRITAIN as antagonist in the game..BRITAIN role in this game is like IRAN role in battlefield 3..
This really feeds into the hype that Britain is evil, and they are the reason for this game. They needed to have more assassin, and going after a templar. That is the reason for this game. Just wish it was made more clear. A trailer though released for the 4th of July that would not have gone over well. This gets to the american spirit. I care nothing as I just want to play the damn game. Being Canadian neither side talks to me, just assassinate everything I can, I'll be happy.
Personally, I'd like to see Ubisoft do a trailer from the British point of view. Specially since they said that Connor is with neither the Loyalists or Patriots. Or at least some footage of him killing some Patriots, instead of nothing but the Loyalist body count going up. And before the "American vs British" arguers come up to me, I'm an American, and yes I'm wanting to see more Patriots being killed by the so-called "neutral" Assassin.
@Jemeryx thank you! im british and i havent seen him a single kill of a blue coat yet !
@Jemeryx really though , this trailer was made just cause of 4th of july , otherwise youd have only seen prob more gameplay footage , alot of games have a trailer like this where its generally not even involved in the game other then a part of its theme.
@Arcius_Azrael just like your spelling. also, its different now in the age of information, where as back then it couldnt have mattered any less.
SMH @ the American soldier saying he's defending "what's ours". Typical American ignorance; laying claim to what they don't own based on some unknown principal that they feel they deserve on birthright.
@aRealCoolGuy Yeah. Obviously it belonged to England by birthright, not the stupid barbarian americans. They are so ignorant, why do they always have to think they are better than everyone. Clearly, England is the rightful owner of american, I mean, do americans have the Divine Right of Kinds? Pfff no, they dont have divine anything, those stupid, stupid backwards people.
Lets tell them to get off their pedestal. Dumb ignorant americans.
@aRealCoolGuy Entirely agreed but, in case you forgot, our ancestors came here and genocided and conquered this land fair and square. So it's ours. The Native Americans came here from Asia too - they didn't spring to life right here in the Americas. So yea, it's ours.
Thing is Connor is on no ones side no assassin ever is its in there code all I'm saying is it would be nice to see more footage other than killing Brits all day long
you know, Ubi keeps saying that Connor is fighting for the Assassins, and for himself, not for independence against Britain. They keep saying that it's not so black and white, and that his loyalties lie with the creed, not specifically one side of the war or the other.
But this trailer does not portray that at all. Quite literally the last woman who spoke, "it well be THEM, not US"
Hmm. Now, I don't have the worry that this is going to be essentially an "AMERICA, F*** YEAH!" game, that some people thought when the time period was originally announced.
And it has been made clear in other trailers that Connor is working pretty closely with the American soldiers and killing the british, but this trailer really seals that argument for me entirely. Connor is fighting with America, against the British. Period. End of story.
On a side note, I think it would be rather an interesting turn of events if after working with say, George Washington and that whole crew, that it turns out one of them is a Templar, not necessarily a traitor/spy a la Benedict Arnold, but simply an American Templar, and Connor has to now go after them.
THEN, maybe, Ubi's claims that it's not so black and white will hold water.
......yay......kill more Brits and tell us that's not the whole idea, i got 20 quids saying after killing 500-1000 Brits you might kill like 15 yanks at the very end of things....
id say it would become unfare if for killing yanks you unsync. i bet also the only reason that its concentrating on the usa side is cos its just been 4th July they better come out saying from the brit side too cos theres enough history saying that many us politictions were part of the templars
@ReaveR1 It's not because of the 4th of July thing. The trailers have been like this since the game was announced. And it's not just the game trailers, look at the boxart and the content of the collectors editions.
@ReaveR1 Also stop complaining about it being on the American side of things. What is the worlds most deadly assassin going to be fighting for the side that loses? Plus their not really brits their just bits of code inside the game. Its history and history is written by the winner.
According to the devs, the Assassin's are NOT taking sides in the war. The trailers beg to differ - and THAT's the issue.
Also, it doesn't matter who's on the loosing side, the Assassins fight for what is right. And considering in Desmond's time the Assassins are all but wiped out we can assume they've been loosing really badly up to that point.
Anyway, by you definition it's OK to have a game were you rape children because "they're just bits of code inside the game" and they're not really children.
You know game like that get banned, right?
There's also a reason why Americans are rarely portrayed as bad guys (in games where the protagonist is non-American).
