Asura's Wrath - Video Review

I'd give this game a 7.

make no mistake this game is really cool. its not worth 60 bucks but its is definitely worth 20. Its a sugar rush from start to finish, like max payne was. short and sweet, and a nice change of pace from so many clone games out there. dont knock it till you try it.

all i seen was a never ending quick time event...

Good review, shame though as i thought the game would be good :(

Don't get too comfortable on the couch. This game is shorter than Gary Coleman.You will be popping that game disk out of the system sooner than you think.

"Rare game over screen" "no boss too challenging" did you even play this on hard? Would you prefer that every time you failed a QTE you died and had to start again? I think not. This is not your standard adventure game. I don't know what to call it an neither do you thats why the low score. Oh wait I think Ill call it fun.

they should have given it at least an 8. the thing is that peolpe are so used to games that are more button smashing that cut scenes they complately exagerate that the game is 70% cut scenes and the rest is just some boring combat which is not and i know because i already have played the game and is very entertaining.

Combat = "Shallow and repetitive" and F--k'n epic. *warning this game is prone to conflicting bias* It's worth the try.

@ozzyneverdies 5.5 does mean an awful game. It is saying the game is meh. 5 is middle ground, below would be a bad game above the game gets better till it's a perfect 10 (which really should never happen). From what I played of this it's a lot like indigo prophecy (Fahrenheit) but the QTEs don't make sense with what is happening on screen.

i love quick time events because it makes for a great visual in a theatrical combat scene, but from the sounds of it there tons of these (i dont mind) but apparently the actual game play combat lacks? is this true?

seems like a harsh score 5.5 = awful game. it should be at least 6.5 or 7. I know gamspot have decided to be super harsh with reviews lately but this is a joke. I think the reviewer doesn't get the point that it's almost not even about the gameplay, it's about the amazing cut scenes and great story. Yeah an interactive manga film isn't for everyone but some people, myself included will really enjoy this!

Game play and story is what makes a game awesome, but where story was the main aspect of a game to pull you in and immerse you in the world years ago on older devices, technology now allows for the visuals to do that as well. When I play skyrim on the PC i actually will sit for instance on a bridge and with water that looks so real i can see my reflection in it and watch the sun come up. Now that immersion. I'm just saying for as much as we are charged for games today there is no reason gamers should get anything less. now if games cost $30.00 right off the start I wouldn't feel so entitled.*** AGREED, if a game doesn't offer A+ graphics, or A+ combat, then don't charge $60.

5.5? I'd expect a 7.0 at least. I bet If it was world war or medieval themed they'd rate it higher imo.

i rly didnt feel the lack of gameplay so much i mean there is some but if u look at it the other way the game has a bonus mission and a lot of other stuff which adds to it and the cut scenes and quick time events are just epic ,btw funny thing is that gamespot and ign always have toaly diferent reviews on games that try somthing new el shadai for example

By coincidence I just saw the review from Bastion which looks really good, but I wonder would gamespot give the same 8.5 score if Greg Kasavin (who was working in Gamespot for about 10 years) was not the creative director of that game? 5.5 for Asura's Wrath and 8.5 for Greg Kasavin's Bastion, which is a copy-paste from Zelda? Hmmmmmm

U MAD Gamespot? Indeed, the game is short, but there'll be DLCs for it, and nevertheless, it's a hard game to get platinum/1000G For me, a must rent at the very least.

Bad gameplay or not, worth buying.

Gameplay is very weak. Capcom should have made Platinuim games develop this game, Cyberconnect 2 is only good at Naruto games, and even those games have average gameplay and gets boring at times, but non the less they are good games but this game should have been an anime movie.

I thought this game with the story included and the extra ending was awesome def. not 5.5 more like 8.0. Dont worry about this review.

What a shame. This game would have been completely my kind of game if only the actual gameplay wouldn't have been so shallow. Still, it looks SO cool!

@Crypt1978. Couldn't agree with u more. A thumbs up for that. Games have indeed become very expensive and we gamers cannot settle for anything less.

@sporadic9 yeah agreed. you have to be trolling or you are the BEST gamer ever if you played any of those game on hard or competitively online. Trolls arent real. so my hats off to you. I have never met the best gamers ever!!!
