I'm getting this game, it looks pretty fun... but am I the only person who is getting tired of cheating becoming a normal part of gaming lately? What I mean by that is like the "detective mode" here where you can see through walls. That just makes games too damn easy.

You get the same thing in Hitman Absolution with instinct mode, and plenty of other games made in the last few years. There are also a lot of games where you temporarily slow down time too. Absolution is one of those with the point-shooting mode. I think Fallout 3's VATS started that trend.

Anyway, before anybody bitches at me, yes I know you don't have to use these features and I rarely do but it just feels like the difficulty of too many recent games is watered down so that casuals don't feel overwhelmed... and it bugs me.

i've had this game for some time and still play it regularly, right before writing this in fact! This game washed away the sour taste of Batman Begins games from the last generation of consoles and flavored it to be a amazing game. if you haven't played it, what are you waiting for? Harley quin herself to come to your house to ask you to play it?...actually, if she was still in that hot out fir from this game, i wouldn't mind her visiting me....perverted mind aside, this is a great game that any batman/superhero fan will enjoy.

STEAM has the AAGOTY edition for $7, and City for $15 this weekend. I'm about 25% through the game, and am loving it so far. Some parts would be better on a gamepad, like the Scarecrow battles, but easily do-able on the keyboard.

so what you are saying is that batman movies should look like the gay old days and still gay old days of a tim burton movie.

@corteztheg Criticizing movies like Tim Burton's Batman and Batman returns isn't fair. They may have been a bit strange at times, but the first two films were really good. The Joel Schumacher films may have been pathetic, but don;t diss on the two films from the master of gothic, creepy and cool, Tim Burton.

This is what is missing in the new movie trilogy of Batman, Gotham City MUST BE GOTHIC!!! not a real city. Batman I and II were the real Batman. This game captures that and is AWESOME!!!

@polymetalloy1 Only a 9? Is a 9 really harsh now? Doesn't 9 represent the best of the best? First of all getting to focused on the number and not listening to what the reviewer has to say will lead you to missing out on many games. And while this is all in my opinion I really don't even see where you got that they were being harsh with this review. A 10 is RARELY given out, and is even harder to give to a fan based game i'd assume. Not EVERYONE likes Batman, so whether it effects gameplay or not it reflects peoples intrest.

Referring to my comment below, I thought this was Arkham City. This game was still top notch when it came out.

Thank God for OnLive. Without it I wouldn't be able to play this gem in top graphics AND good quality. Amazing game.

Considering the heaps of praise mounted on this game in the video review, how in the hell did it end up with only a 9? Gamespot's harshness is sometimes all too obvious.

miker00lz
miker00lz

@polymetalalloy1 You've got to be fucking kidding me. What the hell is wrong with a 9? A game getting 9/10 means it's one of the very best games the reviewer has ever played. Why do I even have to explain what a 9 means? Were you dropped on the head as a baby? Repeatedly?
