Arkham City has been out for over 8 months now, so how many playthrough's have you guys done so far?

I am currently on my third playthough, and I am playing on Hard. However, it really does not seem that much harder than Normal... I am only in the Museum so far, so I guess I have not yet experienced the true difficulty yet.

That's kind of expected though just from having done multiple playthroughs. You know how to beat every opponent in addition to being competent in general with combat and predator situations.

If you count NG+ as separate playthroughs, then I guess I did 3.5. Two on Normal, one NG+, and then partials on Easy and Hard.

    Just one, Normal.

Want to get the challenge maps and campaigns done before I do New Game Plus.

4, but damn, I wish you could do unlimited NG+'s. It sucks having to beat the normal game again. And TC, do NG+ if you want a challenge, it's the only way its fun for me, the alerts just make combat waaaay too easy.

Hard difficulty wasn't exactly the same as normal. The enemies hit faster, even with the counter prompts, the time it takes for them to swing and hit is a lot less than on Normal, plus they hit harder. It's not so much hard as NG+ but it's a noticeable difference.

    Two.

One in my xbox 360, then it got RROD'd, then I re-bought the game on the PS3. As soon as I finish all the Riddler challenge maps, I'll go for the New Game+.

I am determined to make this game my first Platinum. >

Iv done 20 playthrough's with Batman Arkham Asylum
  • Jul 15, 2012 7:24 am GMT
One. I played non stop when it first came out, then I got distracted with other games. The I stopped playing games all together for about 3 months or so. I finally came back and finished the story a few days ago, I still have a couple side missions to go.

4 complete playthroughs. Complete as in getting 100% in all missions within the campaign.

8 if you count NG+ as it's own playthrough.

One. I can never comprehend people claiming to have fun playing the same game over multiple times in such a short period. But hey, different strokes.

You didn;t really beat the game, then....you probably played on the easiest difficulty too. For people who play multiple times, it is not the story but the combat that keeps you coming back.

Hard New Game + is somewhat harder than Hard, except for Mr. Freeze (very challenging).

It's hard to take anything you say seriously when your opening line was so utterly ignorant. Sorry.

    How is my statement ignorant?

The object is to beat the game.

I have played through easy, hard, New game + hard and beaten them. I've three medallled all the combat challenges and most of the predator challenges. I found all the riddler trophies and riddles. I have gotten most of the achievements.

You played through once. You can't beat this game in one playthrough.

You, sir, are the one with no creditability. After you beat hard new game +, post your opinion...it will carry much more weight than your opinion does now.

Apparently you have trouble reading as well. I already said it was your first line that was ignorant. You assumed I played on easy because of my views on replaying games? That makes no sense, the two aren't related.
Also, for future reference, I'm pretty sure everyone else knows that "beating the game" generally refers to the main story, if someone says "100%" then they're talking about completing EVERYTHING.
I've been away from gamefaqs for a few years, but I don't remember it being filled with people who snap so easily and make unfounded attacks for something I clearly stated was my opinion. I even SAID everyone has their own views, but you just can't accept that, can you?

I notice you didn't mention which difficulty you "beat" the game on. Was I wrong in assuming you played on easy. It couldn't have been hard because you have to unlock that. I can certainly have been wrong but I am far from ignorant. You were wrong in calling me ignorant.

You must be so proud to have completed the story. Really got your monies worth out of this game too.

To comment on your original statement about why people do multiple playthroughs - for some It is to achieve 100% and truly beat the game. For others this is just a super fun game.

I apologize for giving you the impression that I "snapped" at you. Maybe I did. I guess it is just a pet peeve of mine when people say they beat the game and they really haven't. I have been very civil and this is still a great board...even though you and I have basically hijacked the topic.

    Getting back on topic.....I did 3 playthroughs....still haven't beaten the game...still trying.
