I think I am more interested in the armor kill expansion pack, wish there was more info on it.
@desdar1234 they would be piss easy to shoot down unless they increased the rate u could use flares

We get the rundown on the BF3: Close Quarters expansion pack, the first of three new expansions including Armored Kill and End Game.

Why would they make this??? It is not fun. It just turns into a spam fest with too many explosions and spraying. Make expansion packs for BF, not CoD.
Frag rounds was such a huge mistake in this game. I remember before all these patches, people were able to snipe across the map with these things. Plus huge mags (12) and the new patch coming will reduce it to 9 i believe. Terrible weapon balance but epic gameplay lol
usas with frag rounds will be used by every one unless some kind of patch is released
I know everyone hates the USAS with frags, I've been killed by them too, but the next patch addresses the issue. If that's the only thing you can complain about I'd say your doing pretty well. I definitely don't care to pay 15 bucks for 4 new maps and 10 more guns. It's more than anyone else gives you at that price.
I love Maps with just gunfight. They are the most thrilling. But I hate paying for it.
Why not also include a replay system?? Battlefield begs for it. Unlike Cod.....what you wanna show in that game? how many no scope kills you get??
I'm so pysched for this, but if the maps are similiar to Operation Metro, I'm going to be screaming and mad most of the time, because I truly hate that map.
Not going to get this damn DLC. Operation Metro.... used to be my favorite map until the USAS-12/Frag ruin the entire mood of the map. Can someone say USAS, RPG, M320 and Frag rounds heaven? It is going to be some stupid matches.
Why an ad for every single video? Youtube doesn't do that, nobody does that not even porn sites. Greedy greedy. Gamespot you are making children used to advertising with this method, very clever and scum-like. My kid isn't gonna join gamespot if I can help it because of your stupid ads that are never, EVER relavent to my interests or past purchases. At least allow us to choose what categories of ad we get so that we might actually not be so sickened by the frequency and severity of ads.
>Game has a lot of technical glitches "Let's make the destruction EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS!" C'mon. That'd be like Bethesda saying they want to upgrade the console versions of Skyrim to PC graphics so they too can experience the game in TRUE HD as well... What's the point? How bout instead of making the environments LOOK cooler, how bout we work on how the game runs? I'm not expecting the game to ever run perfectly on the 360, but quit making it look nicer.
@sirnormanislost Exactly, good point, I love veichles but sometimes I jus wanna battle without worrying about a tank or chopper.
@illagueril1 same for me but the one thing ive noticed is that metro is the only infantry only map so im looking forward to some more
Y'all need to chill out man, the maps will still be "big", but close quarters big. I love OP Metro cuz it's diff than other maps, I like big maps, small maps, and all in-between. I love all game modes, so I appreciate all maps for different reasons. There's times all I play is TDM and SDM, when all I want to do is CQB, then there's times I play nothing but Rush and Conquest for the open space, veichles and sniping. I actually wanted a few more CQB maps without vehicles, so this perfect, next there goin the usual route, with big maps focusing on vehicles and such, so once again, perfect. These maps are smaller so they can be finished quicker, I don't mind the fact that it might take a little while to get the dlc cuz it seems they are going to be done well and really thought out. And as far as ppl sayin if it's only goin be a few maps and a few weapons I'm not payin for it, well who cares? You don't have to pay for it, so why are you complaining bout something that's not mandatory to play? ppl jus like to whine, sound like my 5 year old, grow up man, ggeeezzz
Will probably get the new maps due to the destruction element in place but I'm more excited for the heavy armour pack because it'll have vehicles, I just can't shake the feeling that these maps are intended to satisfy the COD fans who like a faster paced, less team oriented game. There won't be much teamwork on these maps other than spotting enemies and some light flanking involved
@DrBob27 If you didn't liked Left 4 Dead then there's Team Fortress 2. And now they're planning CS:GO, though we can't tell if it's going to be good yet.
@ seriousturtle at least they nerfed the usas and the mk auto shotgun in time by the time this map drops, but your right , grenades and frags galor. time too squad flak it up!!!!!
This looks like a frostbite 2 version of that Arkaden Multiplayer board in COD. Now even though people despise the possible fact that BF is looking COD-ISH here, remember Operation metro, depending on the game mode it won't be as small as Arkaen, its closed quarters cause its in a building but don't ever expect BF3 to every make a map the size of nuketown or a moshpit level, I'm pretty sure this building has many levels and places to run and explore, remember if you play rush you expand to 4 parts of a map for the full view of the map, so don't sell the close quarters idea too short, check some more video in the next couple of months. When gamespot puts up now playing BF3 close quarters, you'll get a full view of the map. until then though I guess you guys do have the right to speculate after seeing the first vid and no concrete evidence of map sizes until like late april or may
CoDified.... Well, at least they promised a vehicle heavy expansion as well, though its too bad they didn't focus on that first. The destruction does look neat, though.
I always thought Battlefield was about the inclusion of vehicles as well as infantry fighting? This is just more COD fodder, they should really stop trying to take them on and just concentrate on fixing the game they already have and expanding the open warfare maps. And totally agree with @onikay that the frag round error is going to make this ridiculous if its not adjusted enough in the next patch
Twitch shooting, in your face fragging, close up mano a mano, nope not for me, give me distance, a scope and high calibre rounds, a sniper I am and a sniper I will stay. Let the game grunts do the close up stuff. Bring on the open maps and some jungle maps would be good to.
"This is what Battlefield is all about" - .... does this guy even know what he's talking about!! Every previous Battlefield had it's focus on BIG, open maps. This is exactly what Battlefield was never about; I liked taking my time and planning out an assault but... this... if they're gonna charge more then 10$ for only 4 mini-maps & a couple of weapons they can count me out. Give me something WORTH buying!!! I'm hoping the other 2 DLC will prove better but my hopes aren't high anymore...
"The core of the game still works" mmm No... Metro it's an unbalanced map, if you get to the B flag first (Russian team has the advantage) you're pretty much screwed cause there's no way to flank on that map. If the patch fails to adress the issues the game has right now then this will be a Frag Round, RPG/SMAW, noobtube fest just like Metro is right now.
@Raxyman Name the last good FPS game Valve released. It's not the Left 4 Dead games, that's for sure.
Chill people they are planning on releasing some of the biggest maps FPS history. Close quarters will add a little variety to the maps, however I do prefer larger maps.
June? Why not sooner dammit! I want my fix of dlc, I love BF so much. (and before someone tripps, I also have CoD Elite) I love both games because they are NOT the same. Also Counter-Strike this summer is going to be an awesome time to rekindle my love for some true old-skool fps action! ~
When Battlefield 3 released, DICE said that they would release more dlc sooner to avoid the player exodus that Bad Company 2 saw. Looks like they changed their minds. Karkand was forever ago and this won't be out until June.
Battlefield 3: Destruction 3.0 Back to Karkand: Enhanced Destruction Close Quarters: HD Destruction MORE HYPE MORE LIES.
Wow, will BF3 release DLC earlier than CoD? Wow... So much for the fanboys saying that BF is soooo much different than CoD... Your faces are in the floor now, and everyone who said both BF and CoD are birds of the same feather (including me) just got proven right. Want a different FPS experience? Valve, 2K and indies.
Wow, looks pretty insane. Could be a treat/ once in a while substitute after going through the map cycle every now and then. For those who are waiting for Armored Kill, I bet it'll be worth the wait
64 players indoor = another operation metro(if you played 64 p conquest metro on pc, you know what I mean) waiting to happen.
I'm a little disappointed in the "close quarters" focus of this pack, but I'm still really looking forward to it. I need something fresh to keep the BF streak going. I wonder how much Sony had to pay to get the pack a week early? (poo, I'm on X360 :( )
why DICE WHY?!?!? it's not COD plz keep BF the way it is.....this is complete BS.....idc if these maps are good...this is not BF.......why not release Armored Kill first...with the biggest maps in BF history it would attract people like flies but this joke will turn alot of BF players away
