First impressions of the Armored Kill DLC with footage of tank superiority mode on the new Armored Shield level.
well , this is a great mode for BF3 but it will be better if they could make a place near each base were the enginers could fix the tank in there .
Always thought they should do this, full tank battles, sounds like this is a close to what I was thinking as I'm going to get in BF
Not what I was hoping for but it should be a bit of fun. Tanks and other armor are my favorite parts of BF3.
Im looking forward to this but these guys make some good points, but I like to think this is a demo version and the finished version will include more flags to fight for.
the map reminds me a lot to BFBC2 Harvest Dday, not a bad thing, loved that map.
good thing i used a server to level my tank skill to get the better abilities like guided shells and such
they should of made it like rush but for tanks once you hold an area down for a certian amount of tickets you move on to the next area that way the whole map can be utilized the way it intends to be threw CQ
Looks like Harvest Day from Bad Company.... I would love to see some maps like Arica Harbor back in Battlefield.
I am disappointed with this mode. I was hoping Tank Superiority would actually involve some strategy and be more focused on movement, flanking, using different avenues of approach, and long range tank battles as well as close quarters. Complete lack of creativity.
@CombatIT Unfortunately, for some of us, BF3 never delivered on the strategy and tactics gameplay. I played about 200hrs and realized time and time again, the rounds just play out like large deathmatches with everyone everywhere, no lines or front, just people killing each other from any direction at any time.
@CombatIT I was hoping for that too and for something more like you would only be able to capture flags if your team had a tank in the appropriate vicinity.
Although one of the problems with conquest sometimes is that you just drive around to all of the flags looking for enemies who are just driving around to all of the flags looking for enemies.
@CombatIT yea..but 64p large conquest on bandar desert will still show all these aspects
Oh and btw.. "tanks but no tanks.." hahah W..T..F ?!? Too bad they did not cut that out. Besides making no sense it just sounded stupid. Why not just say it's an armor genocide?
@murekkep yeah that does not make sense, im still really excited for this.
Disappointed in something you haven't played? Is that possible?
Doesn't look bad at all.. The map with the AC130 base sounds cool. But only 5 vehicles, 10 in total? Damn don't do thatt
Wow, after having actually seen the vid I can really get why people are upset AGAIN. One flag? With tanks rushing in continuously? Come on :P that has 0 of the elements that made BF great to me
@Lei_11 That's the new mode they're showing off, the maps will still have rush and conquest so stop complaining
@Lei_11 wow will people stop with that fucking dumb comment already?? THEY'RE SHOWING YOU TANK DOMINATION NOT FUCKING LARGE CONQUEST MODE WITH 7 FLAGS TO CAP.
@GamerOuTLaWz @Lei_11 EXACTLY. PEOPLE ARE MAD BECAUSE GAME MODES LIKE THIS STEM FROM THE CALL OF DUTY ROOTS THAT BF3 IS TRYING TO STEAL PEOPLE FROM. THE HARDCORE BATTLEFIELD FANS DO NOT LIKE THE PANDERING OF THE CALL OF DUTY PEOPLE.Sigh... Seriously, you need to understand that this isn't battlefield and you are part of the problem.
That's not the only mode. It's just one they added.
the ad took so long to load then play
GAMESPOT MAKE YOUR ADS STANDARD DEF SO PEOPLE WITH SLOW INTERNET DONT NEED TO WAIT 40 YEARS TO SEE A VIDEO
The snowy mountain map better be good, or else I'll skip this DLC. Prefer infantry over vehicles anyhow.
How about, now guys bare with me here, we make two/three huge maps for a DLC.
We increase the amount of players that can play on these maps, how about 100v100?
THEN, we put dozens of APCs, Tanks, and Helicopters and about three flags with huge capture zones (the zone of the flag that allows you to start capturing it once you enter it) and long captures times, but once you actually capture it you will get around 1000 points.
And finally, lets make a portion of the map a residential with narrow streets and the flag in the middle of a large cul-de-sac.
*cough* DICE look here *cough*
@RAGEofSTUNTS ....Why not just play ArmA 2 then? :p
@RAGEofSTUNTS While it would be interesting, it is unfeasible and has already been done on an even bigger scale. 256v256 was a complete bust in a game that was too bland to even remember its name. 64v64 is hard to balance already, I wouldn't trust dice with bigger. And on another point BF3's base speed has been increased from previous battlefield iterations due to the inclusion of infinite sprint. This means that all the maps have to be disproportionately large to actually make a difference and compare to the older battlefield games. Not to mention such a small thing as infinite vision which destroys the limit that protected so many people from stupidly ridiculous attacks as well as making air superiority something simpler to gain in some cases and harder to in other cases. A lack of Infinite vision also makes it more important to spot things for your teammates(IE Putting in more teamplay into the game). Limits make games. Destroying what was the foundation without realizing what actually made that limit special is horrible foresight and bad design. It seems weird but with the right people behind it and good marketing such a game could be restored to its former glory. Why? Because CoD and BF3 are a result of massive marketing and unfulfilled hype that draws people to hope for something better, something more.
