Most Improved Sequel
Editorial Nominees
Here at GameSpot, few things make us happier than seeing a troubled series lifted from its ashes and set right again. We all make mistakes, and a good sequel will learn from those experiences and adjust accordingly. When selecting candidates for this category, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings almost made it on the list. However, we thought that would belittle our memory of the original Witcher, which was a strong game that got stronger with its sequel. Instead, we decided to focus on disappointing games that got better. Before 2011, all of these series had fallen off of our radar under a mountain of poor design choices. We're glad to see them back again, but only one can be crowned the winner.
