The last of the BioShock: Infinite Heavy Hitters video series focuses on Siren.
@dxBIGBOSSxb Yes, we are all flawed and although I don't necessary agree with him completely if at all on what he said, I can somewhat see were he is coming from. It is also possible that his comments on the issue may have been misinterpreted or taken out of context. The way I have began to look at it is that if a game like ME3 is "art" then it is a collaborative form of it were the players are "artists" in of them selves to some degree and EA didn't appear to take them in to consideration when making the ending.
@Yulaw2000 He is a a wise guy in his field, but he has his flaws. His opinions on the ME3 ending, and perception of video games being a form of art is VERY misguided and... for lack of a better interpretation, just plain silly. Good man, but one that doesn't understand gaming from a business standpoint.
@Yulaw2000 I especially love the themes of the dangers of Nationalism, even in a Republic Society. It really makes you think as to the "what-if" scenario that could have happened if a part of America resembled something similar to say Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Fascist Italy and Spain, or even the early Roman Empire.
@dxBIGBOSSxb Yes, tacked on multipayer can take resources form the SP game and in the case of ME3 be used as a intrusive form of DRM, but I'm afraid BS2 had more problems than just the multiplayer and it wasn't a true sequel to many because it wasn't made by Mr lavean and it wasn't really needed as BioShock was a complete story in its own right. This one will hopefully be the "sequel" that many want: A new complete story in its own right. :D
Do I kill the woman bringing anything I kill back to life, or keep killing my foes? Not exactly a 'tension driven' decision, unless you happen to be so utterly new to gaming that you for some reason believe not killing the healer/medic first in any game is a brilliant idea.
@Yulaw2000 Sweet. Glad there isn't multiplayer. This game doesn't need it. The one in Bioshock II is the exact definition of "Tacked-On" in the gaming dictionary.
@dxBIGBOSSxb Not to worry, I'm sure they will have some explanation just like how you reminded me they did with BioShock. Now that I think of it they did in System Shock 2 as well. I think that they ware explained as a side affect of the implants or something. A vague explanation is sometimes better than a full one as it can add mystery, but I hope they don't do something goofy like the end boss of Resident Evil Revaluations that doesn't fit in with the game universe.
@Yulaw2000 Gosh, I hope so to. these guys are doing the genius idea of NOT explaining the actual enemy, like the others, and instead give a vague description, possibly to make player wonder just HOW this creature even exists.
i like watching those vids but...they kinda spoil the surprise of bumping into one of those guys for the first time
@dxBIGBOSSxb Yes your right, and I hope that it stays like that with this one, so far it seems like that's the case. :) My comment was about whether the siren would be explained. "The "ghosts" are actually explained as merely hallucinations brought on by the surging ADAM in your bloodstream of past users after having been collected by little sisters" :Yes, I had forgotten about that. I hope that their is a fitting explanation for the siren as well.
Yes let's strip every last bit of mystery out of the game before it even arrives. Why do people watch this stuff. No I didn't watch it. They show so much info on the games before they arrive that there are no surprises. It's sad really. I remember when games would just show up on the shelf and we were like, "hey what's this, looks pretty cool" and off we went on an unknown adventure. Now there's nothing but the act of playing it left and people quickly show up on the forums to complain because they are bored already.
@dynomitemasta You're a sick little man, aren't you? I hope you're one of those corpses holding my throat you disturbing child you. If this was a troll (Which I must be correct), this isn't making us mad as much as it makes you just look stupid. Trolls can suck at their jobs too.
@Yulaw2000 The series has always been about science fiction -_- Nothing in Bioshock has ever been related to mysticism, magic, or the supernatural, only science. Science gone horribly wrong, as well as political symbolism, and deep philosophy.(The "ghosts" are actually explained as merely hallucinations brought on by the surging ADAM in your bloodstream of past users after having been collected by little sisters) Even the game that it's the spiritual successor of, System Shock, was a survival horror game that revolved centrally around science fiction.
As this game seems to be leaning more to the science fiction genera, I wonder if there will be a pseudo scientific explanation for the siren (perhaps something to do with the dimensional/time rifts) or will they just leave us to guess, like with the ghosts in the original BioShock.
you all want to be scared, go volunteer in a morgue. you can bring a balloon with you if you like, but it's plenty scary without it. when your there, lay down between two dead bodies and put their hands on your throat, then have someone turn the lights off. it's much scarier than a balloon race.
thought Bioshock 1 blew my mind.. (still does) this is gonna be going down the rabbit hole once again!
the best..few franshising real artists great games art difrent scary boobs:) history great wepons etc...an example for many games...and new bio..games comes with an interval of almost 2 years..perfect
Very cool, glad their just giving out bits and pieces and not everything. Also, hasn't the art director said "early in development" for every character so far?
there will be SO much terrifying beauty in this game, I'm sure. One of my most anticipated this year.
