Check out the debut trailer for the MMORPG title, Blade and Soul.
Developed and produced by NC soft. I played in Korean version, and I gotta tell you. Don't be fooled by trailer. Guild Wars 2 is way better than this crap.
10 for art performance ! Wanna know if the game will be smooth and refreshing as the trailer.
Looks interesting. But without a good combat system and being functional at release it will be just another flop.
@MegamanX2011 It comes from NCsoft where Guide war was produced. So what do you think about combat system. However, it look like Asian fiction novel.
Looks great but I'll wait to see if this turns out to be another cheap asian mmo with little content and a pay system that nickle and dimes you for every little thing.
@LazyGamerX It comes from NCsoft, guy. Guide war got 9.5 score. So I think this game will have good system. However, it looks like Asian martial art fiction novel...
It's a nice trailer; there is a certain insanity about it that appeals to me. If I have the energy to play more than one MMORPG at a time, I may even give this game a try. Then I'll know how the game plays intead of looks in a trailer.
For those of you who don't know, Blade and Soul does not use target based combat and is faster paced than that of both Tera and Raiderz. Just for clarification.
@RetroSEAL But is it "fluid" like TERA, Vindictus, Dragon's Dogma or Monster Hunter? I really want combat to feel free, where when you move, you actually dodge arrows per se - not like GW2 where when projectiles don't hit you, you take damage anyways and only way to dodge is to actually dodge (which you can only do twice unless you've got endurance boons). It doesn't make sense, if I don't get hit I shouldn't get hit.
So yeah the question -- is the combat THAT fluid? Cause the videos don't convince me.
(btw before all the kids start flaming me, I like gw2 and purchased it, just not too fond of the combat)
@tnguye3 I would recommend looking up some actual gameplay for this game. It's already out in korea so there are videos.
@tnguye3 I'm NOT sure! But yes dragon's nest, vindictus, dragon's dogma all have excellent real time combat. I believe it is really fluid and real REAL time, like Dark Souls real time. Continent of the Ninth has a similar feel to Blade and Soul and that game is fun and fluid.
If NCsoft don't IP block this for my country I'll be the happiest person on the planet
Oh look, yet another run of the mill Korean grindfest MMO. Sure, it's pretty, but the "Swords and Panties" card has been played so many times it's not only worn thin, it's actually 2-Dimensional. Scratch the surface and this game is just as bland as a hundred other similar looking and playing games that seem to be pouring out of Korea these days.
I don't know about Korea, but in the West the gaming industry has matured a little beyond "Kewl, it's got bewbies - want!". And on top of everything else, NCSoft have just decided to kill off the only truly Western culture game they had - City of Heroes. If NCSoft expect their western audience to trust or respect them after that, I'm afraid they'll have to try harder than 'Blade and Soul-less'
@TurjanStarstone A remarkably well written and detailed analytic gripe of what is happening to free-to-play mmos. Kudos. I dub thee Sir Turjan Startstone.
tera online already proven that graphics alone, a successful mmo it does not make.
and yeah there's guild wars 2. lol.
There is one huge...major....insurmountable problem with this game....Guild Wars 2 already came out!!
To hell with this game, it looks like a generic korean grindfest. Also, thanks for killing City of Heroes and dissolving Paragon Studios, NCSoft. I will pray to whatever gods I can that this game eats sh*t and dies in the first 6 months.
Saw friend's Korean Beta. Characer design is great, but there rest of the game is fairly blah.
I've been following this for years and -now- they release a N.A. trailer...
already out in korea.
i tried it, game play is great, but i personally dont like the character designs.
Havent NCSoft got another game out at the moment they should be concentrating on?...
NCsoft, guessing this is the replacement to city of heroes.
Couldn't of been released at a worse time
