Holy cow! If you are sending someone to promote the game (and this is what you try to do with these previews), send someone that sounds a little more alive. Mr. Jan Kunt sounds as he is bored to death of talking about the game. Had to mute the video in order to finish watching it.

 @xaviermf he is frustrating to listen to, I imagine his Co workers would have burned him for making there game look like the most dull experience of all time, just with his monotone voice and character

 @Smosh150  @mammoth157  Folks, I don't see ANYWHERE in my post (or in JJB03 for that matter), where it was mentioned anything about his "accent". The gripe was against his "tone of voice", which is (IMO) extremely dull and has absolutely nothing to do with him being Czech. Heck, English is my 2nd language and I know I have an accent, so I will be the last person to rant about someone else's accent.

 @mammoth157  @JJB03  @xaviermf Yes if you knew anything about BIS they are located in Czech and in most of all their game interviews if not all they all have a bit of trouble not speaking with an accent such as this. They spend their time making games for us to play, not getting an accent down for an interview when they already know the language which is sufficient enough, doesn't need to be perfect.

Interesting concept (been waiting for a game like this to succeed for a while now...), but they have to be really careful in the design of the gameplay... The strategy and tactics must feel relevant, and so do the FPS element.

Either the AI is too dumb, and you're needed to go in the battlefield every time to make things happen; or the AI is good at doing what it's told, and you going in shooting things feels irrelevant.

 

The right balance is incredibly hard to reach, and I'm not impressed by what I saw here...

 @DIGN Just because BIS makes the ARMA series doesn't mean this game is anything like it, and it is not in the least like ARMA. Anyways I am glad it is not because that would take time away from polishing up ARMA 3 which would desperately would need to be polished considering the release of ARMA 2 and all its bugs and the fact that that engine is prone to every little thing countering each other to create bugs. Honestly I don't see where you guys get Halo from either, powersuits, VTOLs, drop troopers, etc, tbh this game is closer to BF 2142 than Halo easily.

 @DIGN Ofc those items I listed are all in Halo, but even by their design and the way everything looks it looks straight out of BF 2142, especially the Walruses, they look just like the APC's in that game.

 @Gelugon_baat Yea, just hope in the full version it is not a "must be online at all times" DRM, those ones ruin devs and seem to piss everyone off, one of my favorite games requires that.

 @Gelugon_baat Yea the only DRM found is just simple install, enter key to BIS after being sent it in an e-mail, then play.

 @Gelugon_baat Just look on BIS's site, that is where I got mine, full access to the beta and you get the game when it comes out, price is not too bad, $29.99 last I checked.

 @Gelugon_baat There may be one included in final release, but as seen in past BIS games they have not used such.

This game looks unique with its instant control over 8 vehicles, but the whole premise feels weird. It feels like a SP that should have been a MMO. I remember good o' OF: CWC and my trying to be commander-gunner-driver all at once in a T-72 (or was it T-80). Good times. This vehicle control feels too streamlined for single player.

 

And the strategy element... I don't get where the strategy happens. Is it just capturing an island, build it for some purpose, capture the next, repeat? Is there any factor contributing to build decision other than mines on resource heavy islands, fortresses on choke points, and factories on the rest? And those lines that connect islands, can you only travel along those lines? What about the enemy carrier? Can I spy on it to plan ahead or is it just a toss up where it shows and I try to defend against it when it shows?

 

More info is needed. From what I've seen in this video and others... it really doesn't have anything that made BI and OF my favorite.

 @Unfallen_Satan Actually, you hit it right on the head, from the beta you can play a full strategic campaign, but what you said above is all it is(At least the beta build). Though lacking in complexity of which BIS is known quite well for, it is still a fun game nonetheless, but there could be massive improvement to it. Right now it would be just a fun arcade game, not exactly a full retail game imo, but not bad. Probably the most complex thing in this game is outfitting your units with different ammo, weapons, armor, etc, but such is not complex in any way. You cannot really spy on the enemy carrier, now you can stop it in mid time compression and engage it, destroying an enemy carrier is actually one of the victory conditions, I have not tested whether you can rebuild your own carrier or if the enemy can.

This game was originally done in 1991. Should be good. It was good back then with polygonal flat shaded graphics. { Stupid commercials online! Jeez!}

tbh this isn't a bad game, I got the beta last week because I love Bohemia Interactive and found this was a great buy. As said it is a bit rough and needs a bit of polishing, but so far everything is great. The only real issue I have with this game is your carrier has to be near the island to receive telemetry from your units, so no long range attacks or leaving some construction units behind while you go off to conquer. The game may not be for everyone, but from what I played it is not a bad game to me, definitely an arcade game and nothing like the scale of ARMA 2, but fun nonetheless.

 @Mercaptan You realize that 2012 graphics doesn't mean Crysis 3 graphics, To fill such a large expanse with top of the line graphics would kill your computer, take a look at ARMA 2 which is made by BIS as well, it doesn't have the prettiest of graphics, but is the most hardware consuming game ever, I have a GTX 670 4gb superclocked and an I7 2600k @4.0Ghz which both are better than any console GPU's/CPU's  and ARMA 2 is still hard to max out with perfect 60 FPS, I usually get 55-60 FPS maxed, but when it gets to a ton of units I drop into the 40's, though ofc this is not as demanding as ARMA 2, they didn't want to kill those who don't have that great of specs.

 @dhaag740  @QQabitmoar Even so they look exactly the same, only difference really would be just different graphics options and ofc no modding support in the console version.

I'm not optimistic that the game is coming to 360. it means it won't be at the scale of ARMA but at least modders may solve this.

 @Halloll BIS has a strong modding community, especially when it comes to ARMA 2. Though ofc the same audience may not be attracted to this game BIS will prob fully allow modding of this game and hopefully release the tools to at launch. Lots of potential considering all the limitations BIS has put into the stock version of the game.

I hate to be pessimistic, actually no I don't, but this game will fail. I don't like seeing anyone fail, unless they are complete a-holes, but I don't see this doing all of those elements very well.
