AWWWWSOME game look out pc cnc3 is crashing in march 28 gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo SCRIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Find out about the powerful new combat and mind control units at your disposal in this expansion to Command & Conquer 3.
In Command & Conquer 3, last year's real-time strategy game from EA, three factions battled for control of Earth. There were the "good guys" in the form of the Global Defense Initiative, the chaotic forces under the Brotherhood of Nod, and an alien race that was introduced to the franchise known as the Scrin. In Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, the expansion, the story and the war will continue. Only this time, the action will focus on the two new subfactions for each of the three main factions. In an earlier preview, we introduced you to the two new Scrin subfactions in Kane's Wrath. First, there was Reaper-17, a hard-hitting and powerful offensive faction. Then, there was Traveler-59, a much more devious faction that relies on mind control to win battles. Each of these factions will have its own unique units, and we'll go over those below. Kane's Wrath ships in March.
The Reaper tripod is an extremely mutated version of the standard Scrin assault pod. This mutation is a result of Reaper-17's dangerous and excessive Tiberium consumption. The tripod is equipped with the powerful conversion beam, a weapon that can shred opponents. And the bad news keeps on coming if you're facing the tripod in battle because an upgrade allows the conversion beam to fire for long stretches. As such, this towering war machine is a formidable unit in battle.
Like a number of Reaper units, the shard walker is a mutated version of an existing Scrin unit; in this case, the gun walker. Transformed by Tiberium infusions, the shard walker is much faster and tougher than a gun walker, packing a bigger punch. In fact, it hurls pure Tiberium at devastating speeds. This makes the shard walker an ideal unit to deal with enemy infantry, as well as aircraft. There are a couple of upgrades that give the shard walker an even more powerful weapon, as well as tougher protective force fields.
One of Traveler-59's tactics is to enlist the enemy's forces to its own side thanks to mind control. This means that a single Traveler unit can recruit an army instantly. That unit is the prodigy, another genetic mutant, but one blessed with the power to not only take over the minds of its foes, but also teleport around the battlefield. That's a potent combination because the prodigy can jump around the map, seize control of enemy regiments, and raise havoc in the rear areas of an opponent. The downside is that controlling the prodigy in battle will require a lot of micromanagement.
Another mind-control unit at Traveler-59's disposal is the cultist, which has limited mind-control abilities but is more of a frontline fighter. The cultist is a human abductee who is transformed by the implantation of the insectlike spawn of a prodigy into the brain. Each cultist can mind control a single squad at a time. Its captives can also surround and accompany it in battle. Aside from their mind-control abilities, the cultists are unarmed. They can be upgraded to increase their movement speed, which helps them close the gap with an enemy squad and subvert it.
The ravager isn't so much a new infantry unit as it is a lightning-fast creature that is perfect for hit-and-run raids. A valid ravager tactic is to exploit its speed and use it to go after the enemy's harvesters, thus crippling an economy. Or, you could use ravagers to swarm into a base. Ravagers are the fastest of all the new units in the expansion, capable of even outrunning vehicles when upgraded with the "advanced articulators" upgrade, which is only available to ravagers that belong to the Traveler-59 sect. Those that belong to Reaper-17 can be upgraded with more powerful weapons.
Just like it sounds like, the mechapede is an insectlike Scrin unit that has a body consisting of many segments. The mechapede is very tough to take down because it can spawn new segments to replace those that have been destroyed. These segments can have different weapons on them, giving the mechapede a large amount of versatility on the battlefield. With up to eight weapon turrets total, this is one of the most potent Scrin units in the game.
wow this is starting to look good got the first one and that was brill (but always loosing when i play online)
Well i've read some of these comments and well even though some think this a bust and so is C&C 3, I think there wrong. Not just because im a die hard C&C fan but because ive played every one of there games, and C&C 3 was unfortunately their worst one...Dont get me wrong i like the game but think about it every faction was EXACTLY equal. Think about it every faction had extremely similar units. You may say stuff like Scrin aircraft were unmatched...but each had a weakness that the correct unit of another faction could exploit and dominate that unit. What im talking about is that even though C&C 3 was a step back into the genericness of every other RTS ( Total war isnt an RTS at all, dont count it :) ) This new expansion pack seems to be a step back into what the C&C universe used to be. Like Generals Zero Hour ( oddly enough being their trailer) that is a great example of a diverse C&C universe. It was the best feeling iin the world when u entered into a battle when you knew you had the advantage. Thats what im getting at here in this very long post. Im glad that EA didn't forget that advantages are much more fun then an equal fight, unless your losing :D. ps EA sucks at life, BF2 for example ....good game f***ed up by their "great" patch work. Same thing happened to Crysis...Amazing game F***ed up patch!
what's with the intro? its the same at the generals expansion intro xD i dont have c&c 3 cause when i played the demo i realized it the same game they release everytime but just with better graphics. and now they even copy the intro from a previous ea game... ea is going down... they will not survive in the rapidly growing game industry if they keep using their coppying mashine like this.
The expansion seems great I am looking forward to it And as for some of the haters in here bashing C&C 3 (mostly SupCom fanatics as i noticed...). PLEASE GET A LIFE.... Go play your favorite game instead of wasting your time in here trying to persuade other people that C&C 3 is trash and that Kanes Wrath will not be good
I loved C&C ..always did...but I'm starting to doubt my faith in it ...(BUT NOT KANE!!! KANE LIVES !!! ) I mean....every expension pack (generals,tiberium..ra2 etc) was not just a new story, but new factions with NEW UNTIS...not thouse "things" ...I wonder who said that... A : "Hey,c'mon lets put a BOX ON A JUGGERNAUT AND CALL IT A NEW UNIT!!" B: "YEAY!!!You're a f*** genius ..we will MAKE MILLIONS!!!" .... I mean..Is it sooo damn hard to make a new tempalte for a unit...just make it look different...not put some sh*** on it and give it a new name...Damn even a 6 yoear old boy could think of sh** like that.... haverster+rocket pod from the buggy= SUPER NEW HARVESTER..thingy....Even Ican do it...and I'm afraid to where it is going...what will happen of NOD? Fancy sub faction name like "fear stealth brothers 67" and a "new unit": flame thrower + avatar = flame hand bot !!! oooo..thats sooo super....c'mon guys,is thsi EA ' s doing or what? What happend to inovation,creativity...the true C& C spirit?Dont tell me it died with WESTWOOD.... Still....put the pros and contras togher...and I might still buy it...well..I'm a fan afterall....damn you EA...just..damn you...
Of course the Scrin aren't broken, and of course the expansion isn't all about them. I quote, " two new subfactions for each of the three main factions". It's just that the Scrin is what's being talked about here. And since SupCom's been brought up, let's think about how "broken" some of the units in that were. The Colossus, "OMG invincible", right? Wrong, with a decent air fleet and some nukes it went down just like anything else. The Spiderbot, seemingly the favourite unit of the development team: Pathetic range, awesome damage but not much endurance. These new apparently unstoppable weapons WILL have weaknesses, and the Titan in particular will probably be a finisher move, because it's only in the later stages of the game that you'll be able to build them due to sheer cost. People, don't feel you have to make a scene just because C&C's POPULAR.
It would be freakin awesome if they re-released Generals with the expansion for the xbox 360! It was such a breath of fresh air when it came out, and it's expansion actually felt like an expansion, if not a whole new game at times.
I really, really hope they fix the slowdowns that plague every crowded battlefield in Tiberium Wars. Even an option to turn down the visual detail in order to improve FRAPS is welcome in my eyes. The guys behind Supreme Commander for the XBOX 360 have stated that a rock-solid 30 FRAPS is what they are working toward, and if they can pull off that AND a unit cap of 500 per player, then why is it Tiberium Wars suffers so dangit! 30 FRAPS OR DEATH
evlkn1ght fell for the EA newb trap. Trick all the newbs who haven't played good and innovative games in to thinking they have to accept crap games,
Speed the entire reason that EA had to do a legal NFS game was because too many people were trying to do what they do in the game, and dying as a result. its unfortunate, but its true.
u can also see how EA made NFS Prostreets. It was pretty derivitive. Using the franchise to promote the new game with goody goody graphics. The problem is the actual racing which is sort of bland and ordinary. I mean, if u want legal street racing, get Forza 2. NFS was known for its free roam and COPS but this new approch was not that good. Its also not very realistic, other than car damage. The handling sucks unless u upgrade with some super expensive parts., which is not fun at all. Prostreets is more about frustration than fun, especially the single player.
u got a point there Hadrianil but the way EA makes money is ripping people off by making a crappy game. Thats not how it should be. Sure they can make money and thats fine but if they make a bad game out of a good franchise and rip people off while making money, that wont be reasonable. Take this new Command and Conquer Tiberium War Kane's Wrath for example. They basically just made some few changes here and there and bang "An expansion". This expansion doesnt have anything significant. Consider it as a mod and if people buy it without properly understanding this game, thats gonna be a ripoff for them.
why is everyone so pissed off at EA. OF COURSE their in it for the money. they are a company and the idea behind a company is to make money. and if there is a perfectly good franchise out there then they are gonna milk whatever money they can out of it. At is called buisness sense! there is nothing special about game companies. all buisnesses are trying to make money be they videogame companies, banks, law firms, insurance companies, or freaking zoos. the goal is the same: make money. The ONLY differance is how they do it. Get it, Got it, Good
are Relic so creative with COH? DOW, maybe. but that is thanks to workshops creativity, which is beyond computer gaming. Blizzard? wait, isn't SC2 simply a 3D standalone expansion pack? or Starcraft itself, isnt this is some kind of a shameless WH40K ripoff? maybe Spam commander, ohhh thats just too bad, you cant be creative in that game. creativity is a concept that is executed on once in a decade, you want creative ideas? go play all those unusual Wii games. RTS uses old ideas and recycles them, its true. but its far from bad, its only for the better. every time i see a new C&C i see refinement, i see using old ideas and executing them better. one might say, the cultists are just Yuri clones wrapped in Scrin costumes, but hey? i don't see Yuri having PAC, Buzzers or a Mechapede, which is, creatively original. (-:
While alot of the crictizism against EA's typical practices towards good franchises is well deserved. I still will buy the game just to find out more of the Tiberian Story. Hopefully they dont butcher that too much although I still hope in the future they will continue the Red Alert Series.
man those soots and hatz at EA LAme juzt want our money they dont care aboiut anythin but money man they dont even make a good game. behold for the suits at EA just want money.
If anybody who actually played!!!!! C&C3 with the SCRIN will know they can be quite powerfull compared to the GDI or NOD
It' s Red C&C 3: Yuri' s Wrath. It' s milking time at the C&C Ranch. EA has no creativity, no passion, they do it for the money.
original idea? have you ever played empire at war or the recent universe at war? No? the buildable bigass segmented unit is a thing long done... so wake up Then please don't insult other people thinking just because they are on different position god damn it... but oh well..i guess there will be always fanboys (or just people with low expectations).. even though this C&C is a shame for the series..
Excuse me but some of you in here are talking without a brain.... The Game will have many new Units even new Mega powered EPIC units. Have you seen the new Scrin Mechapede unit with the buildable segments. It's a very original idea as a unit The expansion HAS A LOT OF CREATIVITY
i agree... all these units look like remodeled and recycled units... nothing new its like the same unit just with a inc. stat somewhere... disappointing crap... I HATE EA'S LACK OF CREATIVITY!!
damn this is so gonna suck :( nothing more than a dozen of recycled old units with new textures to call them 'new'. Nothing new to the genre... just another $ to be milked away by EA
This expansion is not all about Scrin, its all about after CABAL being defeated, Kane becoming more powerful by rallying his forces once more and then it stretches through to kane causing the Scrin to invade (in CNC3) but there is only a large Nod campaign (no GDI or Scrin) except for the global domination mode which is where you pick your faction and fight it out across the world whilst choosing where to strike yourself.
