@1234die Of course criminald will always have guns, that's why the police has guns. But we're not talking about "normal" criminals here, we're talking psychologically disturbed individuals who legally obtain their guns, most of the time no questions asked. That is insane.
Here in Italy, mafia men are armed to the teeth with illegaly-obtained weaponry, obviously. But it's very difficult for a normal citizen to obtain a gun for personal defense to carry around all the time. Still, our percentage of gun murders in relation to the population is 4 times lower than the US'. And more importantly, we don't have periodic mass shootings by psychos.
