Dead space is a great mix of new age and old school survival horror, the ambiance is great, the environment's are dark, and the enemies are gruesome. Originally played this when it first came out a few years ago but haven't gotten around to a review. The story of Dead Space is solid and somewhat generic/cliche, but is done/ portrayed well enough to stand out. The only set back that takes a little of the edge off the horror aspect is the ability to buy ammo, granted it makes the game a little easier, it also curves that old school survival horror feeling just a bit, none the less though the sound effects and the environment quickly bring that feeling back, as well as the sick and twisted necromorphs. Overall Dead Space is a enjoyable and suspenseful action/ horror game that most fans of the genre will probably enjoy. Overall I give Dead Space a 9/10.
