Im a troll because you are bad at video games?
Dont me mad because you found out your bad.
LOL, what class do you play? You survive those guys as a level 9 mage? If not, then shut up, please. Oh yeah, and if you say fighter, then lol, because that's the easiest starting class of the 3. If you say Strider, then wow, you probably just spammed arrows while running away in a safe distance.
Also, I beat the game 4 times and killed the Ur-Dragon, aka the hardest boss in the game, so whatever. Call me a bad player if it makes you feel better, noob.

Its funny that you keep proving my point about being mad cuz you just found out how bad you are.
You tried to sound cool and laughed at me then said that bandits are difficult lol.
You mad cuz you bad.
Then I like all your imaginary scenarios about the classes I use lol.
100% mad and bad.

You can level up 199 times. You might as well sell this game because it will only get 199x more lame.
Where do you difficulty people come from? Did demons souls draw you in from Madden or Something? I really don't remember you people pre-demons souls wanting EVERY game be hard or it gets considered lame.
I come from a place where people find things like challenges exciting.
Sorry Im not into button mashing and running around a game with little to no thought of dying.

This game is pretty classic in the respect that you start off weak and it is challenging and as you progress you become a godlike killer who can never be stopped. If you try and say that the first 20 or so levels weren't challenging you are just trolling, the game is designed to kill new players if you wander too far off the beaten path, then as you level you can beat your own path. The game definitely gets easier and easier as you go and has gotten a bit monotonous to me at least. For example i haven't seen a new enemy type since like level 10 and i am now level 40ish. This game is still a fun RPG reminds me of original Fable mixed with a bit of demon souls.
The games difficulty was harder than it is now.
Just lame it doesnt scale with you.

^Ninja Gaiden 2 is still far harder than Demons Souls imho.
I haven't played Demons Souls, but I haven't been able to get past the second level on NG2 Master Ninja mode.
So... many... explosive... shurikens...
Not to mention the dogs at the beginning of level 2.

I chuckled because I was thinking the same thing.
Prior to Demons & Dark Souls, Most of the difficulty peeps came from Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne.
Where were they before that? Hard to say. Some of these cats are legit dungeon crawlers and have been dying & surviving on a thin string since Gold Box's Pool of Radiance.
These types are a rare breed though. Most of them only come out when ever a new numbered SMT or a Souls game releases.
I have my doubts that most of the Dark Souls crowd is from the old school dungeon crawl era coz their idea of difficulty in a rpg is all sorts of hilarity.
Most rpgs don't actually level scale. That's actually frowned upon amongst most rpg players because it's a lazy sense of design.
What most rpgs did do is impose a level 20 level cap on you (Or Level 50 for epic characters.) which would've worked fine with Dragon's Dogma because this game honestly does lose its appeal once you get over the lvl 30 mark.
They try to talk about Dark Souls as if it were comparable to Ninja Gaiden 2. What made old school rpgs hard was how you had to conserve & survive on what you had. (Your stats & items.)
Old school rpgs even had hunger meters. New Vegas sorta implemented a similar system but it's just there for decoration.
On current gen, only Dragon Age Origins & Dragon's Dogma seem to have an injury meter that actually lowers your stats & life the more that you go on without resting.
Old rpgs were hard but it wasn't due to the combat. It was due to how you'd eventually run out of supplies or stamina because old school rpgs constantly bombarded you with enemies on all sides along with over sized creatures such as the Chimeras, cyclops, etc.. This is exactly what Dragon's Dogma does.
A lot of criticism towards Dogma are nitpicks that aren't even standards of the genre.
It seems that what Dark Souls fans truly want is a rogue like. Which is quite different from the type of game that Dogma is. Dogma is traditional party based rpg with the main focus being on your party formation.
Dark Souls fan seem to be much more interested in an Iron Man mode or a game that constantly challenges you like a rogue like.
Dark Souls wasn't a rogue like but the fan base that it attracts are the type who would be much more interested in roguelikes.
Too bad that there are no roguelikes on current gen systems.
There's several on the DS, Izuna the unemployed ninja, LOL!
All you have to do is remake that game with a dark gothic art style & gfx like the Souls series. These cats would eat it up.

Truth. Battletoads is one of the only games in existence where it's actually harder with two players.
I honestly don't understand where all these "Dark/Demon's Souls is so hard I have to prepare to die" peepz came from coz the Souls honestly aren't that hard when compared to games that truly are difficult such as Battletoads.
As I said earlier, Roguelikes are the genre of rpgs that Soul's fans seem to have a fetish for.
Not that I believe that most Souls fans could handle a roguelike.
Souls is basically the rpg that popped the cherries of most of these rpg virgins who never knew that rpgs were always supposed to be manly ass hard as hell games.
Rpgs simply transformed into casual easy games when Squaresoft, Bioware & Bethesda took away most of the rpg rulesets i& gameplay n favour of larping or ******* ass story telling.

Just exploring the whole world map and not running from fights has got me to level 48, and I've only done a single quest for the knight in front of the castle. I mean, the "oh so scary" Witchwood bandits? Please, I kill them without trying. The bandits leading to Bluemoon Tower, now they actually gave me a fight at this level, but even they were quite killable, with only me an my main pawn and no one else.
So yeah, I'm nearly to level 50 before even meeting the duke (and it wasn't even on purpose), and the game will only get easier from here. I'm thinking I'll need to intentionally bring a crappy weapon to the red dragon fight just so it doesn't end anti-climatically fast.

He who needs a pat on the back makes every man his judge - Jun 12, 2012 10:09 pm GMTPost-game will make you cry!
I was one shotting Cryclops before getting to it & even at level 60, I am getting destroyed by the regular mobs in the Post-game.
If I can get through a battle with a 3rd of my health, I consider it quite lucky.
I don't even imagine how hard it would be at night too, Hell I haven't even let the Gran Soren immediate area.
Seriously, the game gets super hard no matter how much you leveled up & no matter how easy you feel the game is up till the Dragon fight.

Before Demons Souls, there was Ninja Gaiden.
The thing about Ninja Gaiden (Current Gen) players is that they weren't on every single game board ever complaining about games being to easy.
Demon'w/Dark Souls fans have been on literally EVERY RPG (minor or major) release complaining about difficulty. Making petitions for patches. Down talking anyone who enjoys the type of game.
Even in the common Genre of "Action" that Ninja Gaiden shared there weren't fans pouring over into other action games complaining about difficulty and gameplay mechanics because they weren't like NG.

Pretty much this. I had no problem with anything else in the game, but those bandits near Bluemoon do crazy damage. Dragons, Chimeras, Cockatrices...fine. FU bandits.

NAKNAKNAKNAKNAKNAKNAK - Jun 13, 2012 1:46 am GMTIf you are a Magick Archer, you can just use the 6 fold bolt skill on the hellhounds, 1-2 uses of it kills the smaller hellhounds and around 2-4 kill the larger ones, makes killing them a whole lot easier (since the skill is ice based).
