I tried using the Yoshi guide on gamefaqs.com it was useful, but the Yoshis on the runway during the chase are hard †to hit, as is the one at the end when you fight the boss. They are hard to see, let alone hit! †I got all Yoshis yp to that point, and gave up, for me that kind of ruins the fun of the game.
ALERT! Our revamped walkthrough for Snake Eater will prove most useful on your mission to destroy the Shagohod, once and for all.
Boss: The End
This is an impressive battle that takes place over three maps. Snake is both the hunter and the hunted against The End, a sniper thatís surprisingly adept for his apparent age. The End doesnít attempt to kill you but capture you. Heíll hit you with tranquilizer needles that deplete Snakeís stamina. If youíre struck, check the cure section and use a knife to extract the needle immediately. As you get low on stamina, eat food to replenish it. If your stamina falls completely, youíre captured and return to a point earlier in the game.
Check the overhead map and note the circles. These are The Endís potential sniping spots. As stated, even though youíre being shot at youíre also the hunter. Youíll need to use several items in your inventory to effectively hunt down The End. First, thermal goggles can help you spot The End at his sniping location when youíre within range--youíll be able to see his heat signature. Also, the thermal goggles can be used to see The Endís footprints when he moves from sniping spot to sniping spot. The directional mic can also be useful. You may be able to pick up on The Endís breathing and be able to determine the direction of his location.
When The End strikes with his weapon check the map again and spot the red "X" that denotes his location. Maneuver toward the location carefully and attempt to gain sight on your target with your sniper rifle or other weapon using first-person viewpoint. Youíll have to move throughout all three maps to keep up with the end. Plus itís worth the effort to explore as you will likely need additional food to remain in the battle. Collect every food item found to keep your inventory full.
If you do get too close to The End and he spots you, heíll toss a flashbang grenade to help him make an escape. When The End does leave a sniping post, use the thermal goggles to track his footprints and move toward possible sniping spots in that direction.
Thereís an armory in Sokrovenno South on the western side. If you need additional ammunition, enter the armory and grab the supplies. It includes mk22, M37, sniper rifle, and XM16E1 ammunition.
This boss battle offers two possible hidden rewards. If you can eliminate The End using only the mk22--so you deplete The Endís stamina instead of his health--you can recover the Mosin Nagant, which is The Endís tranquilizer sniper rifle. Note that The Endís stamina depletes on its own during battle (though at a rather slow rate).
To recover The Endís hidden camouflage, you must "force" him to hand it over. You must sneak up on The End and point your weapon at him at close-range. Keep your weapon pointed at him until he finally gives up the moss camouflage.
Speaking of camouflage, check your face paint and uniform during the fight and try to remain as hidden as possible, especially if you want to get the jump on The End. Sneak around instead of running to remain out of his sight, especially if you know his current location and hope to get behind him.
I am tryng to get the "whale" rank and capture all 48 animals, but can only get 45-47, can anyone help?, I need to know what all the animals are and where to find them?
After playing This game for what seems like the 100th time i noticed there was a climbable tree in Svatagornja west that had a place at the top where you could stand or crouch on,† but when i went and restarted the game it wasn't there anymore, if it was I couldn't find it, it seems that there are a few things that are like that, they are there† and you notice them, but when you go back to see them later they arfe gone!
Does any one know what the best effective way to stamina kill volgin is?, I have tried the stun guns, there's not emough time and a combo of stun guns and stun grenades, and I only get him half way, then time runs out!
@Padaman†How do you get stealth camo?
@JGlascock†He Asked, So I Gave Him Both Ways.
It's easier to go thru the game w/ no alerts, there are a few Yoshis that †are hard to find, let alone hit!
†@PadamanI got it, but I still cant get the cold war camo, but oh well, the stealthcamo is far better than all !btw what did you use for the photo camo in granins office? and... where are the locations of that "legendary snake" the tsukinoko?†
†@JGlascock†for tsukinoko granininy(sp?) gorki south at night. use mousetraps by the closest climbalbe tree to the entry. i'll send you the pic for the photo-camo tomorrow
†Thanks bud! I looked on wikia at the cold war camo, since I still can't unlock it, it's not as cool as I thought it would be, but there is a website that has pics of downloadable camo for Snake!
Is the stealth camo unlockable on the 3ds version?, if so, how do you sneak past the scientists when leaving Granins office so they don't† cause an alert to go, since the stealth camo is only unlockable with no alerts in the game.
2 more questions, about MGS 3d, how do you get the crocodile cap?, and has the GA-KO uniform been switched for the fruit uniform for 3ds, I could not find the GA-KO unifoem in the northeastern end of the swamp, only the fruit uniform. one last question, what are all the obtainable uniforms and face paints and weapons?
On MGs what is the radio frequency to find TheEnds location on the map/, also what is the set of numbers displayed by the floating figure in the cut scene right before you fight Volgin? (MGS for 3ds).
@JGlascock†Little Late, But It Is Not A Codec Frequency, It Is The Konami code, Up Up Down down Left Right Left Right B A. And That Is the Sorrow With A Timer for the C3.
@JGlascock†I Havent Exactly Tried It My Self, A Friend Of Mine Said It Worked And He Is Usually A Reliable Source Of Information. Have You Tried It?
