Portal 2 Walkthrough

The Part Where…

Floor 1

Step on the jump pad and travel along Wheatley's ride. You'll need to work fast as the deadly trap can kill you quickly. First shoot your blue portal on the dripping white gel and your orange portal on the lone white wall on the left. Once the gel splats on your platform move your blue portal under you to arrive on the catwalk. Walk along these rails until you come to a broken section.

Place one portal on the small white wall on the upper right and the other portal on the ground far below. Leap down into your ground portal to whisk over the air to the next rail. After the next trap smashes the rails, make a new portal to the left and a second high above the other catwalk. Travel to the other side and continue forward to reach the exit.

Floor 2

Wait for the walls to smash together before moving ahead. Once the destruction is over fire your orange portal at the white wall ahead and your blue portal through the grates overhead. Drop down into the next room and exit out to the other end of the catwalks. Eventually you'll run into three live turrets. To defend yourself place on portal on the end of the light tunnel and the other tunnel on the white wall behind the turrets to knock them out of place.

Next jump into the beam and float to the other side. Exit out of the beam to avoid the crushing machine and continue through the grill. In the next room place your orange portal under the light tunnel. Next place your blue portal on the white wall behind you to float across the chasm ahead. When the crushing spikes appear move your blue portal to the next new white surface that shows up. Once you're safe land on the catwalk and through another emancipation grill.

Spring over the jump gel and you'll arrive at another room with many turrets ahead. Place one portal on the wall to the right and another right above the broke window to wind up at a gel control room. Place your orange portal under the jump gel dispenser and stand on the button to let the goo flow.

Shot your orange portal repeatedly over the far wall on the right to flood the area with gel and destroy the multitude of turrets blocking your path. Once it's clear make more portals to reach the jump pad and leap back to the catwalk. Travel up the stairs to reach the exit.

Floor 3

Look out the smashed window and place your blue portal below the white section of the bomb tube. Next fire your orange portal on the white wall facing the white gel tubes. Hit the button in the room to bring the explosives in and liberate the goo. Place your orange portal on this new surface and travel to the other end.

Travel down the catwalks and over the conveyor belt. Place your orange portal under the bomb pipe and your blue portal under the orange gel tube. Hit the button ahead to bust open the speed gel and place your blue portal on the other end of the belt. Let the orange gel squirt all over the conveyor and run across to wind up on the other end.

Move on ahead and turn right twice. Fire your blue portal forward to soak the ground and your orange portal on the railed floor to the left, directly below the light tunnel above. Once on the other side drop down to the catwalks and through the grill. Set up a portal on the wall and the next one through the gate to complete this floor.

Floor 4

Fire one portal on the ground and a second on the roof behind you to reach the corrupted core chamber. Plug GLaDOS into the control panel to face the final boss. You have only five minutes to complete this fight before the toxins/explosions take you down.

First stand in front of the white gel tube and let Wheatley open it in the crossfire. Place a portal behind Wheatley and another on the ground just in front of you. Wait for him to shoot more bombs and he'll end up plugging himself in the back. Once he's down put another portal above the catwalk and grab the personality cube GLaDOS provides. Hop back down and use the next puddle of blue gel to place the core on Wheatley.

Once the robot wakes up again use the same bomb tactics to hit him again. Once again place your portals on the catwalk and bounce to pick up the next core to stick on Wheatley. Once he is operational use the bomb-portal attack for a third time.

This time some orange gel will break off in the far corner. Place your orange portal at the end of this gel and your blue portal under the last core. Race across the speed gel and pick up the core. Fire your blue portal on the highest tilted platform facing Wheatley and run through your portals to lodge the third core.

Place your orange portal on the white ground and your blue portal in the stalemate room. Travel over and you'll be blasted back by the bombs. Finally, shoot your blue portal at the bright white moon to complete Portal 2.

Portal 2 is a great game. The levels were hard enough that I couldn't figure them out straight away, but could still noticed the solution after 5-10 minutes. Games like Modern Warfare 3 couldn't hold a candle.

Such a great game, the level design shows Valve's creativity. I wish companies like Infinity Ward would take a few hints while making mw3 and its levels. Modern Warfare 3 could use Valve's "touch", just look how great this and Team Fortress 2 is.

I only checked this to see how many chapters were in the game :P

Brilliant game. Wish I had bought the first one before I played this one, but it's so good it doesn't matter. Excellent voice acting and brilliant puzzles - keep it up Valve!

@ icepop4who: If it's so easy and you don't need a guide, what are you doing here? Hmmmm.... Kind of strikes me as an 'I'm better than you guys statement to me'. The truth seems to be, I got stuck somewhere and needed a little nudge in the right direction.

I think this is a great game. but sometime u have to spend an hour on a single floor in the later levels because it gets a bit hard.but still a very good game

I just dont understand the point of listing the trophies if you are not showing how to get them step by step? I mean its a guide right?

lol this is the easiest puzzle game ever. As long as you're not ADD or something, you don't need a guide. Just take your time with it.

Who writes this stuff? It's "levers", not "leavers"! Portal is the bomb, tho' (GLaDOS made me say that)

Pretty good guide, but for god's sake please learn the difference in "passed" and "past."

I love this phreaking game. Right when I thought it was going to end, it keeps on going! I thought it was more of Portal 1, then it goes nuts! The levels are organic, believable and atmospheric. Look out for my review. Incredible game.

What kind of idiot would actually use a Portal walkthrough? Solving puzzles is literally the only thing to do in this game. It's like paying money to have to read and follow a guide.

Without photos can be as frustrating to understand as some parts of the game. Try the youtube hints if you are really stuck.

If you liked the first Portal, you will love this one.. it has a good story and about 7hours of pure puzzel thinking. Some stages where way to easy and some took me a while to figure out. I also loved the twists of the game. To all of you that have played the game i only say "Im in space!" It was great fun.. Thinking of buying the game for ps3 aswell..

@Maxxramman ... *gag* there are three words I bet no one on this planet EVER expected to hear in a sentence: "amazing" and "will ferrell." WOW! I'm intrigued by how stupid parts of this game make me feel at times. To help with that I went and bought the first one. STILL have no idea how or why i'm blasting holes in walls just to be tested by this badly auto-tuned android! HOPEFULLY there will be sometime soon in the game where the greater meaning is revealed (I'd settle for the point ; ) Its also a little strange that the character you are supposedly playing as is a female. Hmmm maybe this is how a female feels if she chooses to play a FPS, i.e. CoD. Interesting.

@Kos1c & @XsickGamerX10 - It's more than just a puzzle game. It has a great story behind it and it ties itself with the Half Life Universe. I think it's a great game. It's better to have played the first one before playing the second.

@XsickGamerX10 I didn't know much about this game, and i got it yesterday. The game is a huge puzzle game, it's great fun, just sadly it's not as long. I've already completed it, took about 4-6 hours to do. But still one of those titles worth checking out. An easy 9/10 for me.

@djball They are hardly holding your hand. It has happened to me that I had no clue where to go due to an obscure portal-friendly surface.

@bigkahunabuger portal 2 does not have a singleplayer section...only a game mode you can play by yourself...that shows gamestpot doesn't have a clue about games.

The achievement for the propulsion gel is "Stranger than Friction", not stranger than fiction, like the amazing movie with will Ferrell.

psychowithabow

I would really discourage the use of a walkthrough for Portal 2. Its charm comes (at least partly) from the satisfaction of solving the puzzles, and being told what to do diminishes your experience of the game. I guess using one section if you're really, REALLY, stuck would be okay, but please go back and be sure that you need the help before seeking help.

I have Portal 2 and in my opionion it is to easy, I completed it in 7 Hours. The puzzles are good enought but there is only 1 way to solve a puzzle and it is easy to find the solution. The Story is realy great it has some realy good twists in it.
