Trials Evolution's Best User Creations

Justin Calvert shows off some of his favorite community-created content for Trials Evolution.

You Gotta See This

Wild wild trials

  • Creator: SmEgHeAd89

The great level design in this fun and forgiving Wild West-themed level is matched by the creator's impressive visual style. Even the music is a great fit, so riding this one in anything but a cowboy hat feels wrong somehow.

The Construct X

  • Creator: KillyTheBit

Like the resistance's loading program in The Matrix that it takes its name from, this level appears to be nothing but a white space at first blush. Obstacles automatically assemble ahead of you as you approach them, which not only looks great, but also makes some of them significantly more challenging than they might otherwise be the first time you play.

AirBase

  • Creator: MrMelee2326

If ever there was a Trials Evolution level that belongs in a Hollywood action movie, this is surely it. Superb set pieces, crazy stunts, and a tangible sense of urgency make this a rewarding level to beat even if you suffer countless mishaps along the way.

The Heist

  • Creator: PASS DAT GOOD

This cinematic level challenges you to escape from a bank robbery aboard a bike with no throttle or brake control. The action is fast-paced from start to finish, but the camera work is what really makes this level a standout.

Time-Line

  • Creator: Medieval Genius

Billed as "an epic journey spanning 4 billion years," this relatively short level doesn't disappoint. A history lesson of sorts, it challenges you to navigate dinosaurs, Stonehenge, the Great Pyramid, a modern-day city, and plenty of other significant locales as you travel through time.

A835:1LINE TRIP 2

  • Creator: AONES 835

This 2D course has a lot more going for it than just its great retro aesthetic and memorable name. It's designed in such a way that making a jump without paying attention to the next obstacle makes subsequent progress far more challenging than it needs to be. As a result, successful runs are especially satisfying.

Pandora final v.

  • Creator: Schnee Henri

Inspired by the world of James Cameron's Avatar, this beautiful level impresses without requiring you to don 3D glasses. Challenges include natural hazards, booby traps, and a couple of steep climbs.

Runaway Train!

  • Creator: Lukeyy19

This occasionally challenging track takes place aboard railway carriages that are being pulled through the countryside by a steam locomotive. The gameplay is really only impacted by this great premise in a couple of spots where tunnels and camera angles conspire to impede your progress, but even without the moving train this would be a fun track.

Found (or created) a great Trials Evolution level that you think should be included in this feature? Let us know in the comments below and, if we like it, we'll include it in an update.

Gotta love user-generated content... mods and all.

I didn't even notice the other tabs, "tired of bikes" and "fun with friends" .... Yay, more amazing user created levels!, great article, makes me want to replace my broken 360, just to get this... I was a bit of an old NES excite bike addict, so this is hitting my nostalgia button, too

This game is crack cocaine mixed with nicotine in a bowl and ground up with a chocolate and heroin pestle and then poured into a sugar/sex cup. In others words it's crazy addictive. I would play it standing up in a constant state of fight or flight trying to focus and loving every minute.

Try it and then kiss away weeks of your life :)

I must admit, back when I had a 360, the only two games I found myself playing over and over again were SHADOW COMPLEX and the original TRIALS. Two very awesome exclusives that don't get the shine they deserve. I'm all about exclusives which is why PS3 is my main system, but folks there definitely are hidden gems within the XBLA that should not be missed. This being one of them.

@walmongerer Try Shadow Complex also, it's awesome. Forget about console wars there are a lot of great games on Xbox Live, you don't have to have Gold to download. Don't miss them, life's too short.

Haven't played it but it seems like this is to the Xbox 360 what LittleBigPlanet is to the PlayStation 3. =]

Well...Trials has been around long before LBP so I would say the reverse is true, lol.

@Cillah187 No, this game kill LBP. This game is for adult hardcore gamers not children

Ok, now I see why people love Trails. This is just too much. Going to buy the game RIGHT NOW... How do you make Asteroid from a map editor? That just doesn't make any sense, but, it just happened. Whoever build this game and those custom maps are brilliant to a whole new level.

This game is fantastic. I only wish it had better music, maybe better visuals.

I remember one map that recreated the hover craft lever from HL2 in full 3D. Wasn't a lot of fun, but it was really cool

I agree, the music starts to get annoying after a while, but in the first DLC (the only one I have) they added some new cool tunes and sound effects which was something the editor was really missing. I also agree on the visuals, they could have been better, but the rendering distance in the game is really high (even if to compensate the "physics" area around the player is very small, but that's something that you only notice by making maps). Also the map's size (maximum number of objects/memory occupied by the map) even though is very big it could have been more, allowing to make some  insanely detailed maps (still you only notice that by making big maps, but just to give a clue if you have played my 2001 map only Hal's core occupies like 25% of the total space).

Mods for console games? Now I've seen everything, lol. Though seriously, it's great that console game mods can reach the same heights as PC game mods do. Mods for a PC game is mostly a foregone conclusion, but not for console games as far as I know, so it'd be good if this was more supported.

@Hurvl Those aren't mods, these maps were made using the map editor built in the game (and yes, you can even make games like Asteroids, pacman, snakes and many more)

I don't know if you'll like it but if you want to take a look at my track it's called 2001:A SpaceOdyssey, gamertag is "los lantis". It's a trials with some minigame features, it's featured twice in the best trials (why? nobody knows). I made it very early when the game came out, so there are better tracks out there for sure, but I like to think that none is like it.
Also if some user wants to check out and give me some advice on my "gigaball" track, it's a minigame I made some time ago and that was still in "demo" phase, I had the full game redone about 60% but I never contuinued it because I didn't think it was so amazing after all.

No matter how many new games I end up of with, (I'm usually trying to juggle 3 or 4 games at a time) I always find myself back on Trials eventually.

It's so versatile, almost anything can be done. Truly inspiring, considering how the series started out.
Just like the LittleBigPlanet community, this one is always thriving with new things to try every day.

Easily my best download of 2012, next to Minecraft.

Amazing. This game just gets better and better. You have to admire the work and skill that must have gone into creating these things. Am going to fire the game up and try a few tonight.
