I remember seeing 26,000 as a number for Kain and ???'s Love. I don't know where I saw it, or if it included darkness/adrenaline/whatever, but I do know it had an onion sword and max stats, so it would be the same for Cecil.

Hmm, can you post the stats that certain pieces of equipment offer as a levelling bonus?
Equipment doesn't give any level bonuses, but some of the high end stuff gives stat boosts while it's equipped. Equipment boosts are supposedly counted above the 99 barrier, so there's some benefit in equpping those pieces of equipment. And if you're not picky, you can kind of "max" stats that aren't actually maxed by equipping the right gear, which is what that Kain setup does with his Stamina.
The equipment lists in SBAllen's FAQ give the bonuses from each piece of equipment, if you'd still like to know.

Thanks for telling me that about the Onion equips.
I did a bit of tinkering with the augments and calculations, and I had my Kain get 98 Stamina at the expense of Rydia losing Limit Break and many other stats, but I won't be doing that, I'm probably going to try to find a solution for Ultima + Jump augments.
Probably off-topic, but I must ask, does New Game + replace the New Game option, or are they both separate?

Hello... what do we have here? I may have found a breakthrough for both your Augment guide and SBAllen's (Stats-wise, plus Ultima), because I have used SBAllen's guide for the first playthrough, and just about to finish it, and I have devised an alternative for SBAllen's guide while using his first playthrough for augments!
I just did the calculations, and used the augments from SBAllen's first playthrough, and calculated my own formulas for maximum stats while still having Ultima, plus Kain with 3x Focus, Limit Break, and Darkness!
I will post who to give the augments to, and the levelling strategy for this breakthrough!
But first, I need your permission to do this, because I don't want to inadvertently hijack your marvelous alternative to SBAllen's Augment guide.

I think I've pretty much decided after taking a hard look at both set ups that I'm going with Gau's augmentation. I'll let you know how it turns out. : )

Darkness Jumping Kain seems weaker than Dualcast Fast Talker Rydia in terms of raw damage, but if you'd like to post an augment setup that doesn't use a Limit Break or ???'s Love on Rydia, be my guest. It'll make a handy reference.

Why do people see it as a necessity to follow a guide to the letter? Why can't you try and find your OWN ways of collecting all the augments?

As I indicated before, I planned this while on my first file, which I've used all my augments by following SBAllen's guide, before reading up GauRock's Augment guide, and pondering how I could plan for both Kain's Limit Break + Focus + Darkness + Adrenaline jumps, and Twincast Ultima, Limit Break, and Adrenaline.
Just as a summary, I made this Augment plan on the end of my first playthrough using SBAllen's Augment guide.

It seems to me that the Focus for Rydia is completely useless. Might as well just level more with Last Stand for simplicity, unless I'm missing something
