True, but I remember Square Enix leaving some things out of XIII because they couldn't implement it on the 360 as well (also the 360 version had downgraded graphics).

Source? Because I don't think they ever said that.

Hey guys how goes it. >.> lol

Before I get into this it is a known fact that graphically the Ps3/Xbox360 versions of FF13 were graphically diffferent... kinda

The only real difference I have ever notice is the frame rate, and the detail other than that I believe they are the same.

To be honest I have both systems I prefer my playstation for gaming based largely on nostalgia. But this does not negate the merits of the XBox360. Love Halo and Fable, and am content with them being made into the best possible games they can be by simply remaining exclusive.

With that being said the same is transferable to both the FF10-HD remake and FFversus-13 in each case the best game is made when it is made for an individual system and then if the company wants to ported later.

Same as with all other FF from 1-12. Not one of these is in xbox/360.

    What about 11?

XIII's graphics were def different. PS3 had true 1080p, and I know the xbox version was less, not sure of that exact number though. This applied both to in-game graphics and the videos I believe.

Ergo no chance in hell, since it was a ps2 release they will keep it to the roots. Ps3 and Vita. Same as with all other FF from 1-12. Not one of these is in xbox/360.

1-6 wasn't even on PS. It was on NES & SNES, and they were all remade at least once, on multiple console brands (PS1, PSP, NDS, Iphone, etc.). Curiously, 9-12 + Tactics was never released outside a Sony system (11, Revenant Wings and FFTA1/2 aside - and FF7 and 8 were ported to PC). It might be a publishing contract with Sony, PS1/2's major advantage in sales or familiarity with the console's structure.

As for whether FFX HD will be released on 360: only if there's a high demand and/or it sells really well, otherwise, unlikely. The PS3 (and presumably the Vita as well) has similar architecture to the PS2, since early PS3 models were backward compatible. It's not that big of a job porting the engine to the PS3 as it would be to the 360. For new games, since newer engines (Unreal, Crystal Engine, Hedgehog Engine, etc.) are multiplatform, a simultaneous PS3/360 release is almost a given, but remakes tend to stick to their own engines (which might be optimized for the PS2, Xbox or Gamecube).

As far as I know it was native 720p on the PS3 and 576p on the X360 for XIII-1. XIII-2 has 720p on both platforms (both consoles render in 720p and upscale to 1080p).

It probably wont be released on the 360, its already developed for playstation, just getting an overhaul in graphics. I don't think they would see enough profit to redo the whole game to work with xbox 360s setup.

The only thing I wanna add to this, is that the FMVs were 1080p on the PS3 version, while the 360's looked like crap.

On a different note, I personally hope FFX gets a 360 port, but I have both so it really wouldn't matter overall.

What part of HD Upscale do you not get? I don't you think actually know what overhaul means.

OK, FFX is, by far, my most favourite Final Fantasy game ever. To hear it's being released in HD makes me go craaaaaazy.

I'm not sure if its as simple as that. I think the early PS3 models were backwards compatible because they basically had PS2 hardware inside it. The more recent PS3 models aren't compatible because the PS2 hardware was removed. So I don't think there's a case for similar architecture being the reason why FFX HD will only be on the PS3.

It would be far more likely to get a Wii U port, due to both disc space requirements and because Nintendo is more successful than Microsoft.
  • Jun 3, 2012 11:31 am GMT
    I disagree.

The original FFX fit inside a DVD, its very unlikely that the HD version will require more than the space of one of the 360's discs. Don't forget that Vita games are currently limited to 4 GB.

When FFX HD is released, the WiiU will have no where near the userbase of the 360.

FFX HD can very easily land on the WiiU too, but I don't agree that the 360 won't get it based upon the reasons you gave.

I love the whole. "It was only on the PS2, so no!" argument. Cause that's totally been how HD remakes have worked. Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill totally didn't get their HD versions on the 360... oh wait!

    ^ Or Mass Effect 1. Wasn't that a 360 exclusive?

Microsoft published/owns all 3 of those games. That's why they are exclusive. Except maybe dead rising, don't remember.

Outside of the multiple discs (get off your ass and change it fatty!!) I don't recall hearing any real reason to consider FFXIII being better on the ps3, except fanboys being fanboys.

Um... Mass Effect 2 and 3 are on the PS3. Microsoft only published the first game, the rest were published by EA. I also don't understand what Dead Rising has to do with Mass Effect. That was Capcom and it's mainly exclusive cause the PS3 was behind Microsoft in getting their system out.

What is your point? Dudes were wondering why ME1/Fable/DR were not on ps3, ME1 wansnt because Microsoft published it. ME2/ME3 are on ps3 because EA published it.

Sony didnt publish FFX, so that isnt a good reason for the remake/upscale/prettified to be Sony exclusive.
