And yet I regularly point out that one of FFX's biggest flaws is its mind numbingly boring simplicity. If anyone died at any point in a follow-up playthrough or took more than one attempt to beat any main story boss on their first try, they have serious mental deficiencies.

C'Mon man, quit being a hater. Anyway my vote goes to Auron.

You've still got Delita later, but he's going up against Vivi.. and yeah.
And Ashe is going against Paine, so at least Ivalice still lives.
