    Does anyone still play RuneScape? I know a lot of people stopped playing RS because they got fed up of Wilderness being taken out or they 'grew out of it' (how that's possible I don't know) or whatever, but hopefully some people still play?

    Runescape is almost dead. If it's not the bots killing the game, it's IVP (Insight Venture Partners) killing the game with micro-transactions. I don't expect the game to be around for another 3 years or so.

    My dad still plays it. I've moved on though It was nice while it lasted but i can't really stand it anymore.

    A lot of people still play it, though most seem to be mindless bots. It is sad really, but I mean hey, once you reach a certain level, it takes ages to get a skill to the next level. I believe the time it takes to level was good for the game, but after a while it hurt the game, thus people made bots.

    Yes, my impression exactly. Apart from the staring area where 10 newbies are fighting over 3 mobs, the rest of the game is pretty much devoid of humans.

    If you want the old runescape back (pre 2007) before the GE.. and all that. VOTE NOW!

    Runescape is doing a poll to see whether or not they should launch a 2007 server. The more votes the better! There are vote thresholds that need to be passed! Depending on the amount of votes they receive will change how much investment they put into it! So... VOTE NOW!

    I tried playing it but I couldn't seem to get past the "manage plugins" screen so that ruined it for me.

    Almost gave up on it but there was a poll recently and they decided to bring 2007 RuneScape back! Everything about RuneScape at that time was nostalgic for me because it was the first few years when I first had internet. Although old school RuneScape requires you to membership fees, I'm willing to pay for it. Paying money for content is always worth it. :')

    I used to play Runescape a lot when I was younger. I played the original version of Runescape so that is a long time ago. I played that till the second flash version came out and I played that so much I became a member for a year or so.  I quite right after the obsidian armor was released.  Was a really fun game it had a good community back then and I played when the wild was still there. I just watched a video of them talking about a complete over hall of the game to make it it's third iteration with the new HTTML engine for browser games so the community might pick up again. 

    Did they ruin this game with Micro-transactions?
