Fallout:Vegas question
- Aug 22, 2012 9:56 am GMT
I can consistently cause this game to freeze when I go over a specific map area. I have a save right before I walk over it (it's by some abandoned shack). If I walk around the "crash area", everything is fine. If I walk through the "crash area", it will always freeze.
Is that a problem with my 360, or is that a bug in the game? Has anyone else seen this happen before?

It's almost surely a bug in the game. Bethesda games produce a unique set of bugs and glitches for just about everybody who plays them.

I was using "crash area" as a way to describe a specific ridge by the land mark that will always crash the game. The map location is "Deserted Shack", it's almost directly south of Lake Las Vegas. The game always freezes for me if I head due west from that location.

The game came out two years ago, and people still can't remember that Obsidian made it?

The Owls Are Not What They Seem...
Clear you cache and then restart your console. Fixes everything for a while. If you start observing more freezes do it again. There is a memory leak somewhere that Obsidian hasn't patched yet.

Obsidian was contracted by Bethesda to make a game for them, using Bethesda's engine and subjected to Bethesda's total lack of quality control. Yup. That's why it was a buggy glitch-ridden mess just like Fallout 3 and Skyrim, both of which were developed by Bethesda.
