Jak 2 is known by many to have an insane difficultly level and lots of challenge and little checkpoints. So I want to know what your most dreaded task was in the game.

I haven't gotten past this one mission, where there are a bunch of walking turrets coming back to your little hideout, and you have destroy all three before they get there. AND there are guys shooting at you at the same time. Hard as heck. After a while, I just gave up and moved on to Jak 3.

I'm pretty sure the general opinion is that the level where you use a turret on rails is the hardest mission, especially on Hero Mode, which is almost impossible to get past.

The sewer level is pretty hard too imo.

The one where you have to take out the 5 Hellcat Cruisers is a pain too.

Meh, I didn't think it had an insane difficulty. It was just challenging for me and I'm a novice 3D platformer player. The hardest mission that gave missions that gave me trouble in Jak II was the one where you had to rescue or see Sig (?) underwater and then came the platforming and puzzle elements while he was protecting you from the enemies that were there which could kill Sig. Lack of checkpoints and tricky jumps made this mission quite challenging and cheap. It was also tough completing the Class races especially the final one, overall the races were manageable once you got the hang of it. Never played Hero Mode, but heard it was way more difficult and I won't bother getting all those secret orbs. The ones where you had to stop the turrets was aggravating since enemies would infinitely respawn only if you didn't kill them first all the way through where they would stop respawning. Prepare for some cheap shots and deaths if ya don't do that. The game is fine with the difficulty in my opinion. Nothing like a little bit of spice to add up to the game. The challenge was part of the fun in the game along with the great gameplay.

One of the missions with the infinitely respawning enemies; it has people shooting from above and infinitely respawning enemies until you get to a certain point.

Regardless, I don't think the game is that difficult. It's cheap. This is the first time I've played Jak 2, I'm about 88% complete, and I just find this game to be mediocre. The shooting mechanics are poor, the city is boring and terrible to drive in and it doesn't help that the driving mechanics themselves aren't very good, the checkpoint system also is crap and it honestly feels like they threw in all of the ideas they could to make this game big regardless of if the gameplay was polished.

I could really delve into my frustrations but I think I'll leave it at that. Sure, there are a couple of difficult moments but I really think the game's difficulty comes from the mediocre shooting mechanics and the poor checkpoint system. I'm pushing through this game, hoping that Jak 3 will be better, especially since I loved the original game.
