Rocking out on fake, plastic instruments has never been quite so fun.

Humph.
So judging from my description of the game, I bet you're thinking "Why did he give this a 7.5?". The answer, of course, will be found in this review because that's why most people look at reviews in the first place.
Starting with my first experience of this franchise, (Guitar Hero: On Tour), I knew I was going to enjoy the games. I loved it my first play because I knew it was something unlike any other genre: You had to practice. You didn't just look up a walkthrough for extra help. It had music (Believe it or not, this is what got me into classic rock). Diverse music. Some awesome, some utter crap. Either way, there must be a song for everyone on here. Lastly, I knew the multiplayer was going to be good.
My biggest problem with this game at first was that the instruments would be a hassle to get working everytime, and getting friends new to the game to be able to navigate through the menus and such. This is still a problem, and it brings my review down by at least a one. Second, while not a problem, the graphics and venues seemed quite lame, including the blatant KFC/Coca-Cola advertising. My drums also didn't seem to respond well with the game (although they came in the official bundle). Also, don't get the game for the song creating feature. Although I haven't really tried using it for more than a short time, it is difficult to use and even the good user songs don't sound great.
My very favorite things about Guitar Hero World Tour are the easy to find buttons on the guitar, the sheer awesome factor at being able to instantly play songs yourself, the multiplayer, the crazy setlist, and the GAMEPLAY! That is just so cool!

The game competed against Rock Band, but you could choose either one. The gamer's always right.
