Point of clarification: i tried to score this 7.9 but could not get the little bar to get to the right number! Just wanted to clarify that!
I bought this game while i was waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3D to come out. Read nothing about it, heard nothing. My local Gamestop associate recommended it so i took a chance. i have been pleasantly surprised. Sure its a bit of a dungeon crawler, i spend some of the time just trying to level my character up enough to beat some of the later boss battles, but that's not a bad or totally boring bit. The side quests are pretty varied and add to the story for the most part.
This game is not too hard but not too easy either, i am stuck at a point now and there are no walkthroughs/faqs written anywhere. THAT is frustrating! (spoiler alert) When you get to the stage that you are fighting the evil and very strong prince it is hard!! I have died here more than anywhere before here.
I have not played multiplayer at all. So i cannot say what my experience is in that aspect of the game but i can tell you that the same Gamestop associate that recommended this game to me is playing with friends and is enjoying it immensely!
So all in all i am really enjoying this game. I have gotten KH3D but have yet to actually play it. I tired when i first picked it up i loaded it into my 3DS and started but i could not stay away from Heroes of Ruin. So while this game is not a big name or an eagerly anticipated title, it hasn't been hyped for months before its release but it IS a good game, worth any players to check it out! of course that's jmho

Heroes of Ruin is very flawed, but it makes up with purely addicting hack and slash RPG gameplay for your 3DS.

What Heroes of Ruin does right only partially makes up for what it does wrong.
