How can we appeal to new fans?  Put in lots of explosions, point shooting that let's you perform a "takedown" of like 7 enemies at once, special abilities that let you see everything, probably some other stuff I don't know about.  Yes you can supposedly turn that stuff off or not use it, but the question is, was the game really designed around those mechanics?  My skeptical pessimistic attitude towards games says yes, but I hope I'm wrong.

@hystavito I hope you are wrong too. Mark and execute destroyed my love for the splinter cell series however, everything about this game seems well thought out and considered. Hopefully this is still an awesome game with the noob options turned off.
