Ok Pierce Brosnan might not be the greatest Bond ever, but that doesn't mean the game sucks.
Lots of people complain about the sound. It is repetitive and kind of unclear, but think of the cartridge capacity. The same goes for the graphics and textures. Its pretty remarkable that they can even MAKE AN FPS for the GBA, and actually make it good at the same time. The environments are always large and open for exploration, instead of leaving a linear path that you can't take a wrong turn with.
The enemy AI isn't so great, and all they do is strafe back and forth and shoot when they stop, but there are plenty of them, and you can't take many hits, so it can be challenging.
Considering how few controls there are on the portable system, the controls layout is great. of course it is not at intuitive as a PC FPS, because your cannot strafe and angle your crosshairs at the same time. BUT HOW ELSE COULD THEY HAVE DONE IT? It's still great, and the controls couldn't have been improved.
The game itself is not very lengthy, but it is all action packed with 9 considerably exciting missions that follow the cliche "bad-guy-gonna-kill-everyone-and-take-over-the-world" storyline. It isn't so great and doesn't have a very thick plot, but it remains solid enough to show that the storyline is so important in this game.
The game feels full and they didn't throw in any lame fillers to make the game look longer. And even after you beat the game, you probably won't have a perfect mission score which you can work on my redoing the missions and trying to be more accurate, lose less health, and finish faster, as well as finding the secret "Bond Bonus" hidden in every level.
There are PLENTLY of weapons to play around with, ranging from your basic sidearm to rocket launchers, and submachine guns to sci-fi laser beams. (not to mention the 1 hit KO pern darts) The only problem with this weapon system is that you only get to use some weapons in one level, like the grenade launcher.
All in all, the game is very satisfying and I would recommend it to ANY FPS fan, as well as Bond fans.
