Seems awfully strange that a game set for a "Summer 2012" release still doesn't have a release date.

Still just a "Summer 2012" release date. I've tried getting an answer from SEGA, but they don't give anything other than Summer 2012...

Android and iOS versions were also just announced. They could waiting for those to be finalized. I would say mid-August 2012 after Summer of Arcade is done on XBL. JSR is not part of SoA for some reason, so it likely won't be released during that time.

But they're only missing one song now.. a little more than a week ago or so (I can't even remember, maybe more) they silently updated the page on Sega saying there were now 29 out of 30 songs (used to be 28). You're telling me one song is forcing me to hold money in my PSN account meant to be spent specifically for this game? (and SA2...)
Better be more than that.

yeah and a lot of the companies that held the rights no longer exist so they have to track down individual rights holders witch is extremely difficult

Oh man, 29th song was gotten? Well hey, at least we get to hear about how it's going. If they're just trying to get licensing that's fine by me.

A Sega Forum Admin posted an update. They are still working on the finishing touches to the game. (could be the music licensing.)
It's fine to be impatient if you are aware you are being impatient. We are applying all our bells and extra whistles, once it is ready to go and locked and loaded, a date will be available.
You are going to be happy with the release, it's a great version of the game.

I'm pretty sure coding and bug testing is done. It's just a matter of getting all the licensing for music again. From the sounds of it they ot the 29th song so we can expect them to be trying to get the 30th and then releasing it.
