- "Solid"
L.A Noire is something different to the usual "shoot em" up games that Rockstar produces. It's completely different to what you would expect from the creator of " Grand Theft Auto" series and "Red Dead Redemption".
It's strives away from the " follow the story, chase people, shoot people" system that Rockstar have implemented in most of their games, which is very good, it's something different to work on.
As said, it's different to what you would expect, instead of driving around in a car or on a horse shooting people, you're out in scummy alleyways, a junkies apartment or a music club searching for clues and hints to help you in catching the culprit.
Another wonderful and exciting addition to L.A Noire is interrogation which implements new technology never used. To make this possible they put 32 cameras around a room and film it all before editing, so they actually use realistic facial expressions just converted to a animation, they do this because when you interrogate people you have to judge wether or not they are lying or telling the truth judged upon their facial expressions. If somewhere tries to avoid eye contact and keeps scratching their arm, it's a lie, and if they look you dead in the eye and speak with confidence, then they're telling the truth.
All said and done, it's not all filled with clue finding and interrogations, you can drive around the city of Los Angeles in the beautiful 1940's cars, or do side cases which usually involve shootouts and car chases, thus referring back to GTA and RDR. The graphics are at their best, the only bad thing is some cases are too repetitive, not all, just some and there aren't as much shootouts meaning there isn't alot of action apart from the usual car chases
This is the most unique piece of work that Rockstar have produced thus far, and you should definitely own a copy. It's something different to play, and boy is it a good different.
9.0/10
