nope. a person who usually uses the pump will be 10x better with an autoshotgun, and someone who usually uses an autoshotgun will be 10x worse than someone who usually uses a pump.

Then again, I haven't played L4D1 in over 2 years, so I can't comment too much. And crowning the witch.......generally I play where you're not allowed to crown her because that's just too easy for VS modes.

The original L4D1 community has just gotten small to the point where only the hardcore regular veterans are playing it with any frequency. So to make it more challenging they skip medpacks and Tier 2 weapons. Otherwise the surivor teams would just continue to blaze through the elvels and it wouldn't be any fun for anyone, regardless of which side you're on. Pretty boring to be a survivor where you practically can't die and doubly boring if you're the infected and have little chance of killing the survivors.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Playing with modified rules is the only way to keep things interesting for anyone who is any kind of good at this game.
