CBS sportscaster Gus Johnson and audio designer Ronnie Morales showcase the new commentary in Madden NFL 11.
ellbanks, from what I see its 80% the same garb-itch as last year, besides the locomotion gimmick. Too bad Backbreakers view cripples the game.......
New commentators wont make the game play better everyone! Dont let em fool you or take your mind of of the games horrible gameplay and glitches. They can dress the game up and give it a nice soundtrack and voice overs but at the end of the day, we're down 60 bucks and we have a peice of crap to hold us off one more year until someone steps up and challenges EA. Why cant they be more like EA Sports' Hockey team, they make a significant improvement every year.
This game still looks like last year, except a better run animation and some new gimmicks like locomotion. I played the Backbreaker demo, and beside the terrible camera angle that game is amazing. No canned animations, everyone has real physics, no sliding and morphing. Now watching these Madden videos aint the same, players sliding and diving on the ground to give the illusion that theyre in on the tackle when its really a 2 player animation. I bet they didnt even improve pro tak either, I'm sick of new presentations and gimmicks! make the game playable! I dont care who commentates, I dont care if Drew Brees pumps up his team and they drink gatorade on the sidelines! I just want a functioning game! And we shouldnt have to mess with sliders to make the game work. We're getting played everyone! Peace! Go Eagles!
does anybody know if they added progressive lighting in this years game? i hope so can't wait for madden but why the change the kick meter it was perfect in madden 10
well maybe in 2018 they will work on the gameplay and it looks like they have lots of work I see lots and lots of frame rate issues
Al Michaels and John Madden CANNOT be beat. Chris Collensworth was ok... this guy just looks like a thug and sounds like the annoying guy talking S@#t to me after an interception... I might have to mute them.. think about this... excited commentator after a 2 yard run... thats gonna get annoying 40 times a game in 20 minutes.
@honkeytot You do realize the opening lines were from Brian Eckberg himself, and it was supposed to be a joke. Also keep in mind that all the lines we heard are all in pre-alpha, and super early right now.
Forget the commentating...Looks loke the gameplay will be exactly the same as its been the past 5 years...I guess I wont be getting this, this year either.
Uhhh this sounds awful. The problem was never the voice but the lines and the timing of them. In '10 they just repeated stupid lines over and over.
Shocked they got rid of Chris collensworth..He was really stale last year..Forget the other dude..This year the voice overs could be cool..Gus sounds like hes got real enthusiasm for the game..A one yard run an hes goin nuts lol..Will see how this year madden plays out..
He looks like a fcking tool with a really small head. Wasn't expecting a professional commentator to look like that. Anyways, how about Alex Smith's ice skating skillz! Dats Da Truf YO!!!
So I see they brought back the crappy old kick meter from 10 years ago. LOL. I remember when they touted the "kick" meter they stole from their golf games where you swing the analog stick as a big new feature. Now we're back to the 90's kick meter.
Gus Johnson is excellent! He can make a 1 yard gain sound exciting. He does the Knicks games and really brings the game to life. He should replace Jim Nance for the Final 4 games and finals. Gus sounds way more into it. Nance is a GOLF announcer.
could the announcer commentary be any more useless seriously haha. "Theres an eagle on one helmet and a number on the other"
