- "Boring"
To start with, all these missions should have been in Mafia 2. They are all part of the cut content scandal. And if they had been side missions in Mafia 2, they would have worked. But 2K decided to pull it out and stick in a new character, and new plot.
Now, this would have been fine, but the problem is that 2K gave us grumbling old man(Jimmy) and a plot that can be described as basic at best. So all that the gamer is left with is the repetitive gameplay from Mafia 2.
It worked in mafia 2 because it was not the main focus. The main focus was the plot and characters, but as already said, both aren't that great. Jimmy is a gun-for-hire who got screwed over and is out for revenge. Jimmy isn't really developed as a character, and has no emotions, no friends, nothing.
It could have worked, to. If only it used Vito and stuck with the original plot, it could have been damn fine. Because it has moments of brilliance, such as when you can throw a nade into a bar and watch the gangster inside fly in all different directions. The problem is that these moments are just reminders of Mafia 2.
There are also small things as well that make small problems: There are a few bugs (which puzzles me because Mafia 2 was bug free), the arcade aspect is a waste of time, and pulls the player out of the atmosphere and it adds nothing new to Mafia 2
So, a DLC that had potential, but cocked it up. Hopefully Joe's Adventures fixes most of these problems.

It's all arcade and no fun at all, Jimmy isn't what the game sets it up to be.

This is the ending movie of Mafia, considered by some to be the best game ending ever made. Contains spoilers, obviously.Posted Jul 21, 2006
