This game is not canceled! That guy who posted in 2010 about it being shut down was wrong. In 2009 it was picked up after Cryptic dropped it, by Gazillion Entertainment, under "Secret Identity Studios" and renamed Marvel Heroes. It is a PC and Mac game, it will not be for consoles! It is very much like an online version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, as you will play the many popular and unpopular heroes of the Marvel Universe, and not you're own toon. They will be using the Unreal 3 engine, and the game play will be like MUA , and Diablo 1 & 2 style games. Marvel Heroes will be free-to-play. While micro-transactions will be used to fund and support the game, players will not need to spend money to access the full game.

omg noo cryptic.... what a shi77y company, the game will probably come out half finished with a subscription fee, plus store items ... remember star trek online... the game is still undergoing an overhaul of somthing that should of been there form the start,...ie. the game world,.... not a chessboard filled with stupid blue/red streaks.... how epic i can traverse from c2 to b8... i think i sunk somebody's battleship or shuttle, whatever... i hope microsoft keeps a close eye on cryptics work, lest they butcher another great franchise...

guys, this was canceled long time ago, then they made champions online because of it. Aparently, somebody took the project but it is a kind of like a kids game now,

It is going to be a brand new take on Superhero MMO's as you don't play hand made toons, you play the different superhero's of the Marvel universe much like Marvel Ultimate Alliance! But now it is cancled Dc universe it is, I played City of heroes/Villians for 4 years & Champions online for a few months, I havnt played a Hero/Villian MMO yet to date that compares with the active & very friendly City of heroes community. So it is time to give Dc universe a shot, see how it compares ;-)

Haha so pathetic. All it had was still shots of the characters and then have one move at the end. On which planet does this look better than DC universe online. Though to be honest I prefer the marvel characters better than DC.

What a pity!:(...I like both Marvel's and DC's heroes the same....but it seems that I will only play the game from the second company.... The guy below priboy15 and above tarianitaro is desperately PATHETIC....Check out his two last sentences and u will see why....

This doesn't reveal a whole lot, I know it's a work in progress but well idk if I'd play it. I love MARVEL and it's characters but if it's going to be like DC Universe but with different plot, then they might be working on it a while. Hopefully it won't be rushed

Although I am sad that they canceled this, I do not blame them. @rossguyy94 Yes that's what I think what happen. There would be too much competition between DC and Marvel, so I'm guessing they pulled out for the sake of it, BUT DO NOT GIVE UP PEOPLE. I'm sure they will come back with this game in the future once people are bored of DC.
