Does that mean we will end up getting platinum medals. For example killing 75 enemies gives a gold medal, perhaps killing 100 will give us a platinum medal? Would make more sense.

Maybe there will more enemies than Gold. Their HP, Weapon damage, and Shield will be doubled. Your ammo and others may not enough to take them down and survive. You need strongest equipment, gear, power(?), and ammo before you enter the perilous Platinum.
That is, I'm seriously worried about it because it's gonna be... very hurt. That much.

Ugh, I just hope that enemies don't just end up being bullet sponged. That'd get boring fast.

Well with the Refusal ending, some people thought that was Bioware saying "you don't like the choices we gave? Fine, everyone dies". I could see Platinum being "people complained gold was too easy, try this". Can't wait to see.

welcomes plat....
worried about the people needed to play with.
many i think can hold down gold dolo, but I really hope but at the same time worry, that platinum will need team work, and between lolinfiltrators.... and lolsnipers, I Want team work and i want infiltrators and snipers to be run over like fools, but whos left?
Biotic teams? Yes PLZ!
The grunts(heavy guns)? Great!
Just hope theres more team work and not "omg your stealin my kills!!!" types.....
Nutin really against good snipers and good infiltrators, but many people use them like nubs and just keep running. Truth is, need the people that can and will STAND there ground on the same teams and the other every man for themselves and run away types, need to be on the same team.

^So that is incredibly dumb. Stand your ground? Half of surviving gold is knowing when to get the hell out, and its a good bet that movement is going to be even more important in platinum. Bunkering down in one spot can easily lead to squad death as everyone scrambles to get the guy who went down, and then go down themselves because they are surrounded.
Have you ever tried to solo or duo gold? You don't win that by holding your ground. You win by CONSTANTLY running away, slowly whittling down your followers.

That I do agreeing with.
For example...
I come for Platinum mode and am preparing with something strong. Three players and I are join to fight enemies. Few minutes later, we are wiping out like nothing's happening. We're trying again as we are enduring.
Then few waves later, we're still down. Trying over and over and over. Eventually, we are unable to reach the 11th wave. One of us could be ragequit (or leave), complain and/or whine about overpowered enemies.

I'm sure facing phantoms and geth hunters together with a banshee chasing you will be a nightmare so all's good.
So yeah, platinum will be your favourite difficulty.

Dumb Dumb, i've held my ground with 4 people just fine, time and time again. YOUR NOT PREPARED. YOU CANT.
Now Solo/Duo, is different, you dont have the fire power dolo. Thats why you know this, b/c your not a team player. A TEAM Playing like one, makes gold look like silver, not a bunch of cloak up and run away nancy pants.
I move, but I move forward on gold. NOT BACK! All the tactics your talking about apply, but there are better, find them, find people who can execute them, use them.
Welcome Platinum. Welcomes Random Banchee's. Can't Wait......

Considering the number of enemies that must be in Platinum, it wouldn't surprise me if the top guy in this pic got over 100 kills, but he still just has a gold medal.
