this game is anything but good ,from the too many cut scenes to the no-sense story line ,to the clumsiness of max movements ,its just frustrating ,like the slow motion u cant stop it like in the old one ,NO u have to wait for max to hit something b4 it stops from its own ,and when u crouch u cant make a fast move u cant go to cover unless u stand up first then press the cover button (WTF) then the problem of u r getting faced with too many foes which make the game very predictable ,an oh to kill someone u have to always shots em in a head because wither he is wearing a body armor or not he will just keep coming back till u empty ur 30 round mag.
the old Max Payne 1 & 2 rocks a millions times more than this one.
10 hour campaign and Max Payne has lost his pain so i hear from true gamers. I'll wait for the bargin bin. I'm getting really sick of lazy publishers. You'll feel Max Payne in the amount of yaughts you can buy from me.
@moc5I agree, but the campaign can be played through in just about 6 to 7 hours, of which you spend about 75% of that time watching unskippable cutscenes. (actual gameplay is about 2 to 3 hours I'd say)
It's a good game from a technological standpoint (because of "naturalmotion" mostly), but from a gameplay perspective it's not.
It felt more like playing "Die Hard - the game", not like Max Payne.
If there'd be a map and story editor at the very least, so we could create our own "adventures", it would have much more replay value and would then even be worth full price.
I also agree that you're better off waiting for a sale or even better, grab the GOTY / complete pack in a year or two which probably includes the cut out DLC content too.
I'm typing this now while the game blabs on in yet another _way_ too long pause while I can do nothing but sit and watch. You never know quite when the game will suddenly plop control over the character to you (generally in mid-combat) nor when it will just as suddenly yank it away (also... in mid-combat). I find myself in a constant wrestling match with the software over who's playing. The graphics are dated and showing their age already, but when you can manage to win control over the main character long enough to play for a few min, it's a good time. The difficulty can be set from stupidly easy to nearly impossible. Obviously a lot of work went into this, but I really wish they had kept the cut scenes to only between chapters like the previous games rather that endless gameplay interruptions.
@fang_proxy Yeah well it's better than Battlefield 3 where it's 4hrs for 20gb. Also you forgot to factor in the online play so yeah it's worth about 35 gb.
The thing in this game , Max is several years older and still on the painers ?
and although pain killers do not "kill" pain they bog your mind ! and that's exactly
what I seen to perfection in this game , if it was meant and I believe it was ...
to me this is the best game to date ! the only part I saw that was terrible was Max trying to negotiate with a bunch of crazed brazil nuts for Fabriana's life , really bad
judgement on Max's part ! I cannot see any critics blasting on the non success of this game , it had it all challenge - graphics - story , I would need 3 pages to talk of greatness here !
The arcade is good, hate the very long loading delay on both the game and multiplayer. The game engine is jerky and in multiplayer mode, melee isn't marked in the control feature button information. On the ps3 the controls are cumbersum but my real issue with this game is ITS NOT IN ENGLISH ... BUT Portuguese Thanks Rockstar LABEL THE GAME NEXT TIME so i dont buy a product misrepresented
everything in this game is actually gameplay, even the cutscenes... it is non stop action. Amazing game Rockstar . Finished it on the PC and it has great animation, voice acting, smooth, good story (not as dark as the last ones) great gameplay, And it actually works on a mid end pc , well not on highest settings but on high to verry high and it looks amazing......Another great game from Rockstar and this time they did the pc right.
Visually, the bald and bearded Max reminds me of Bryan Cranston's Walter White in Breaking Bad - would love a version where he did the voice over for the character (not to suggest that there is anything wrong with the person doing it now).
@Tobinius6 He's the same guy who has been Max Payne since 2001, and they motion captured his movements. As much as I love Bryan Cranston (BB is my fav. show) I would much rather have the actual Max Payne
I've a question nw..If any of u've seen the MaxPayne3's official game channel trailers,u might've noticed a line"The trailer was entirely frm in-game footage." the ques. is,after ths video we saw,"The trailer was made entirely frm in-game PC footage." Whts the difference between ths 2????? & MP# just simply rocks.Another enquiry....does it require 32/35 GB????
