Hideo Kojima has confirmed over twitter that snake is not as old as he looks in the PAX trailer.

Solid Snake was born in the year 1972, this game shows that the FOX unit is still active, which is the unit before FOX-HOUND. My guess is that, what we see in the trailer is Big Boss and the kid in the jail cell is Solid Snake about 7 years old.

I dont know.. if you ask me it sounds like Kojima is pulling a quick one " oh shit we better make him younger so people are not like WTF ?! " . Granted Solid Snake was mid 50's or so in MGS 4 , BUT wrinkles speak for themselves Kojima. I don't really care as long as it is believable. Either way..you cant tell me ALL that is rim lighting or whatever. Pause it @ 1 min and look lol.

I pretty sure this Snake is actually his dad, Big Boss (Naked Snake from MGS3) and not the Solid Snake from Metal Gear 1, 2 and 4.
Look at the eyepatch;)
Solid Snake still had both his eyes and the eyepatch he had on in MGS 4 was on the other eye.
Besides this game seems to take place in the past.
Definitely Big Boss as playable character.
And I have a feeling the kid in the cage is young Solid Snake.
But I might be wrong about that.
