So, I just got Minecraft for PC expecting "More" + server questions

Sure was "more". Definitely a lot more indepth, hellov a lot more interesting.
It's got villagers to defend --- the AI for everything just seems better -- caverns are overwhelmingly massive!
Different creatures, deadly assed poisonous spiders. Just overall really immersive. Versus Minecraft 1.7 Xbox360 which = lapis lazuli is for dyeing wool... Pork only diet (Jewish community up in arms!) ... Once you get to a certain point, you realize that most of everything you collect is useless unless you want to build a roller coaster or a meticulous monster trap with pistons.
.... But where Minecraft 360 seems to win is: Multiplayer.
Minecraft for PC? My buddy came over with his laptop, we figured out how to join a server. We are from west coast, so we chose WestCoastServer (:P) which was AMAZING at first. It was like 1984 meets the Jetsons. Then the lag set in. And everything was almost fetishistic. Donate 100 dollars to server = you can fly. /Warp heal = eat food because food is broken. no zombies what so ever, unless you wish to farm them in "designated areas".
The whole essence, is amazing - really proud to see what humans can do with mere square blocks of different colors.
But coming from the 360 version - I just wanted to play some multiplayer with my buddy. Ya know?
Turns out it is a lot, lot more indepth than I thought.
Kind of strange. Maybe I am doing something wrong? It just seems that the Minecraft PC is designed for people with Online friends rather than real friends.
Anyone know of any good Minecraft PC servers with no lag and a cool simple atmosphere? Because an hour of googling and reading, and learning the "lingo" has not yeilded any results. :(

If you want absolutely no lag, you could always invite your friend(s) over and start a LAN server.
