A) Use Ice Field and wait for him to go on the offensive. No point chasing a gate user you know exactly what hes gonna do(go taijutsu). So just be calm till we can freeze him and kill him when theres the chance.

Also side question, can we break up individual sections of Ice Field with Shrapnel release? Like so we blow up the part our enemies on and not us.

Starting off with an Ice Field!

You made the handseals for your newly made jutsu.

"Ice Release: Ice Field!"

You slammed your hand onto the ground and ice spread out across the ground rapidly, covering the entire arena. It took a good chunk of your chakra, but you know it was worth it. Jaou merely jumped to avoid getting his feet frozen and landed on the ice with a heavy stomp.

"Covering the ground in ice...I don't like it." Jaou said darkly. "First Gate, open!"

You didn't see any real change in Jaou but then he rushed at you, looking like a blur. You barely dodged Jaou's fist but his knee made contact with your torso, which made you go flying backwards. You cursed and took the opportunity to make more handseals.

"Ice Release: A Thousand Needles of Death!"

The needles flew right at Jaou who swiftly dodged them. You made another handseal.

"Ice Release: Shrapnel!"

The needles of ice exploded into icy splinters which Jaou had no chance to dodge. Too bad it didn't seem to do a damn thing to Jaou, who merely treated the ice shards as one would treat a paper cut. You saw he was about to rush again so you made more handseals as quick as you possibly could as you landed nimbly on your feet.

"Ice Release: Ice Barrier!"

The barrier grew from the icy floor just as Jaou sped forward and the magical sound of flesh on ice went into your ears. Jaou cursed and you Shrapnel'd the Ice Barrier, making more ice shards cut into his body. You didn't want to waste this advantage so you began making more handseals, only to hear something you didn't want to hear.

"Second Gate, open!"

Suddenly you felt Jaou's leg clubbing the back of your neck. You spiked downwards, faceplanting the icy floor so hard it cracked. Your body bounced lightly off the ice, but that was just enough for Jaou to punt you in the head, whipping your neck violently and sending you skidding across the ice. You were violently stopped by Jaou appearing right next to you and grabbing your hair as you tumbled by, feeling like your scalp would be ripped off your skull. You automatically made handseals as Jaou lifted you by your hair to look you right in the face.

"I'm going to enjoy beating you like I did to that other wo-"

"Wind Release: Air Bullets!"

Jaou's eyes widened and immediately threw you away, but your Air Bullets still connected into this stomach, causing him to kneel in pain. You braced for impact and crashed into the wall, making a small crater. You coughed up a small glob of blood and stood up and made two Ice Clones to defend you.

Jaou stood to his feet, his face etched into a snarl. He then got into an odd position and you saw his skin turning red, his eyes becoming pure white.

The hell? Is this apart of the Eight Gates? You think, trying to come with another strategy.

"THIRD GATE...OPEN!"

A burst of energy erupted from Jaou, his blond hair now pointing upwards, looking suspiciously like some sort of golden super mode you read in a comic once.

"I'll admit, I'm mostly going this far because you pissed me off, but enjoy being one of the few who have seen this from me in battle." Jaou said, his voice sounding deeper and way more threatening.

You were backed against a wall, had two Ice Clones in front of you, and a very pissed and souped up Jaou about to attack. If Two Gates could easily out speed you, you didn't even want to know how bad Three Gates would be. What should you do...if you could do anything.

A.) Free Choice.

(Just for reference, you have time for one and only one jutsu, make it count.)

Shrapneling the Ice Field wins!

You quickly focused most of your chakra into the entire field of ice and made a handseal.

"Ice Release: Shrapnel!"

The Ice Field exploded as Jaou vanished from sight. You saw your two Ice Clones shatter and a red fist rocketing towards your face. You closed your eyes and braced for impact, but the impact never came. Opening your eyes, you saw that your Ice Clones managed to freeze Jaou's feet to the floor and at least 8 sword sized pieces of ice had run through Jaou's torso. Jaou vomited a stream of blood all over you, it was disgusting, yet strangely satisfying. Jaou's skin then turned back to normal and his hair fell back into place, framing his face.

(You guys should go to a casino or something, there was a 10% chance of everything going right, and it still freaking happened. The luck Hax is strong with Akemi it seems.)

You smirked sadistically and used what little chakra you had left to coat your fingers in ice. You plunged your fingers into Jaou's skull and took great pleasure in Jaou's pained expression. Soon Jaou's eyes glazed over and you ripped your fingers out of his skull. The crowd roared with approval and even louder was Akane's laughing. She jumped from the balcony and gave you a bone crushing hug.

"AND THE WINNER OF THE TOURNAMENT IS AKEMI! She now wins the special scroll as a prize and begin a week of training with Senior member Tatsuya!" The announcer yelled. The announcer then handed you a scroll, but immediately after that you passed out from injuries and massive chakra loss.

You awoke in the middle of the night on a bed in the medical bay. You saw that Akane had stayed with you in the room, seeing how she was sprawled out on a blanket on the floor. You chuckled quietly to yourself and found your prize scroll on the nightstand next to you. You opened the scroll and saw it was a Animal summoning contract.

"A summon contract? This could be interesting" You think. With nothing to really lose, you preform the blood contract and you decided to summon the animal. With a poof of smoke a small animal appeared, but what was it?

A.) A fuzzy Bear.

B.) A Jellyfish floating in a sphere of water.

C.) A fluttering Bat.

D.) It wasn't a rock, it was a rock Lobster!

E.) A creepy Centipede.

F.) A cackling Hyena.

G.) An elegant looking Butterfly.

H.) A shaggy Lion.

I.) A slimy Squid.

J.) A fast looking Falcon.

K.) A cuddly Penguin.

L.) A vicious looking Wolf.
