Dwight and company travel to OKC to battle Durant, Westbrook, and friends. Find out who NBA 2K12 predicts will reign supreme in this opening day matchup.
Ahh yes, the gold age/glory days of basket ball. It is worth getting for the classic players - gonna pick this one up! Now days, MEH, I stopped watching when the players went into the stands to beat down the fans. But as for basket ball from mid 1990s and earlier: the personalities, the class, the rivalries, just AWESOME. Only one question: what in Hades does the game have to do to get a 9.0?
NBA 2K12 = MUST BUY! I had 2K11 (had to trade it in due to financial woes), but this right here looks OUTSTANDING.:o sounds like they improved on everything which is really nice and the attention to detail is something I appreciate.
If I ever wanted a Basketball game, then I think this is the time right now to get it, I was tempted last year with Jordan been added. Now with the best players ever there... is very very interesting. Love sports games
Worth the upgrade? I just got 2K11 about 2 months back, I enjoyed it, but you may be able to tell I'm not that avid an NBA player. Gameplay is great, but my biggest problem is the graphics sometimes. Not that I'm that picky but it just causes me to wonder why the player faces have to look so bad sometimes compared to FIFA.. But what NBA 2k has lacked in faces they make up with body appearance and animations pretty damn well though.
Hey Where is the Real MVP here? I mean wheres President Derrick Fisher. Them NBA players aint doin they're stuff right now! The basketball ball is 5 on 5 with Team Owners against The Union. Come november would there be a patch to remove the 82 game season? Just curious!!!
Terrible review, to be blunt. Sounds like the reviewer opened the game manual, read the descriptions of what the modes are, and called it a review. It seems like the reviewer doesn't even like basketball - just effed around with the game long enough so they can get through a basic introduction to the modes and say they've experienced all the game has to offer. No effort into the review is really a shame, given how much effort was clearly put into every aesthetic thing they could fit on a disc. Make no mistake, this game is easily a 9/10. This reviewer knows very little about basketball and clearly played this game to a bare minimum.
As a hardcore basketball fan, this game is really awesome. An 8.5 is fair. The game isn't anything superb, but it's replayability potential is way high. Fun times, no doubt.
same review score as nba jam lol. This game is an easy 9.5 for casual and hardcore fans alike. The post game is now perfect; good job 2kteam on that adjustment.
Are you guys really that upset about the "Intro"? Yeah, maybe it's a bit long, but I thought it would be good to share with those who may not see the game.
8.5 is a good score but honestly why does gamespot refuse to give nba 2k a 9.0? if any game deserved it this year it is nba 2k12 this game is crazy good
This is my personal must byuy game though I liked playing in those summer league games in the character creation mode, it made the game feel more realistic.
sounded more like an ad than a review. He barley touched on any details about the game. Does look like a good game though, but I'll stick to my 2k11 copy for now, till the lockout ends then I'll pick this up
I also thought that the nba2k12 review is half-baked... only 1 page? And it doesn't really tell you anything, the writing & narration got no substance. One of the worst reviews I read so far, lack of effort.
Is this game satisfying to play? I have played the demo and I have to say I was VERY impressed. It's so real and the animation footwork is so realistic!
to further add, I still have one complaint about my player. You still cannot start out as a player with decent physical stats (strength, speed, vertical etc). You have to spend an ungodly amount of points on these still to get them up. Do they not realize some people come into the league with these things already? Why do I hate to waste thousands of points on it when I picked a slashing shooting guard? *rolls eyes*
For those that like the my player mode.. it is MUCH better this time around. The pre draft activities are less annoying, no D-League or its a lot easier to avoid if its still there, I didn't see it. Also your player doesn't start out as talented as a 15 year old girl with an overall rating in the 30s. You can get to 60-70 starting which is a lot easier to work with. There's more customizable things to buy with your points instead of just increasing skill. You can change how good you are at things like a cross over or a fade away with the points aside from just adding skill points to attributes. You can now negotiate a contract, set quarter minutes without hacking the game AND you can now simulate the season between key/rival games which is soooo nice if you plan on playing the entire career. Also the AI on simuation does a good job of not letting your stats go to crap just because your attributes aren't very good. There used to be ways to force a simulation on 2k11, but your character would finish each game with 5 points if you were lucky.
By the way is it true that Reggie Miller isnt in this game? I know Barkley isnt which is dissapointing because I'm a Sixer fan (which is equally as dissapointing) haha but at least I saw the 82-83 76ers.
This review isnt really all that helpful to me, I want to get this though but he really didnt touch up on any modes and I agree with the guy who said this guy doesnt sound like he knows anything about baseball The Michael Jordan references were a desperate attempt to sound like someone who knows thier stuff but everyone knows Jordan, its like if you reviewed a Hockey game and brought up Gretzky or Gordie Howe often, or a football game with references to Jerry Rice. I wish he went into more detail, I have played NBA2k11 on the 360 and I had NBA2k10, I was hoping I'd see how much the game has come along since then.
