@frazzle00 No I know,but it's an example of how inaccurate games with a handful of reviews are. I'll include every game that has more then the average amount of reviews for each respective system. As you can guess I haven't got around to it yet because today was a long day. I like Limbos graphics but I personally feel it's not something that couldn't of been acheived 10 years ago. It's likely possible on a Megadrive with only the background and jaggies being the side effect.That is opinion though. You'd be surprised what you can acheive with LBP 2, I've only touched on the new content but what I've experienced so far it has made a tremendous differance. Yakuza 3 recommended then?

@frazzle00 This morning I've thought of a fairer way to do it. I'll do the same thing again with games of 80% and upwards but this time I'll add all the reviews each game with more then 80% has had and divide it by the total to get the real average number reviews. I'll do the PS3 and 360 titles individual so it's not biased. This will solve your issue of saying my test was biased leaving the only issue being personal preferance which is inevitable. I have no idea what the results will say but I'm interested, I'll let you know when I come back from work later.

On a side note, you dig Limbo but dislike Little Big Planet? They're not so different, both 2d platformers with an interesting art style and both have elements of simple puzzles. The core gameplay is very similar, simple but effective. I'm surprised you dislike LBP.

@frazzle00 On a comment I missed: If you noticed I included all the indie games with more then 30 reviews for both PS3 and 360 (keeping it fair); so many on both system have 1 review (like titles called minigolf extreme) meaning 2 things: 1, the reviews only 1 persons opinion which is subjective and 2,the game hasn't has a big effect on the community; it's just another game so to speak.Limbo, Super Meat Boy,Trials HD, Wipeout HD and a few others were all in my numbers.Trouble is, although entertaining, once you've completed adventure based games like Limbo there's not alot to go back for. Unlike Trials HD and Wipeout HD where you get alot of replay value just trying to beat your best times. WE CLEARLY CANNOT AGREE ON THIS SUBJECT NO MATTER WHICH ANGLE WE TRY TO EXPLAIN IT FROM. We don't have to agree with what reviewers say but if you look at aggregated scores they're not far off what I think and I dare say alot of people think there scores should be. The user scores demonstrate this.

@frazzle00 Either way last gen games are still exclusives in their own right. People take notice of professionals; I could say I feel God Of War 3 deserved GOTY last year but there's no credibility behind it as far as anyone else is concerned. Have you looked on gamerankings, the top game on PS3 is "Peggle Nights" with a perfect score of 100% because it has 1 review. Including it in my list would of been unfair for the 360 exclusives. Ever heard of the game, I haven't.I had to do make sure the games in the lists had accurate fair scores so I averaged the lowest amount of reviews with the top end. I won't buy a game based on a review but alot of people do.We've been around this roundabout so many times now. I'll take a great sequel over a great new IP because you don't know what you're missing out on if you've never played the new IP.With sequels you know what to expect and you know your where to put your money. I too rate on a game ratgher then the genre but I will sidestep the genres I dislike. The games I've loved most this generation have to be Metal Gear Solid 4, Demon's Souls, Bad Company 2, God Of War 3, Gran Turimo 5, Killzone 2, Fallout 3, Assassins Creed 2, Red Dead Redemption, Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy 2, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Left 4 Dead (it's simple but great with friends). I'm looking forward to Dead Space 2 because it ressembles Left 4 Dead. How's Yakuza 3 because I never has a proper go on it beyond a brief go in a shop. What's it comparable to?

@frazzle00 We all get older but we never really grow up, there's a kid in all of us somewhere.I just enjoy exchanging ideas with fellow games, I find it interesting. I wouldn't bother If I didn't. First level of Demon's Souls isn't a dungeon,it's a castle if we're going to be specific. What games do you like because so far it seems you only like Xbox games?? I'm generally open to liking most games in most genres with strategy and puzzle games being the only ones I can say I'm least fond of. I do however enjoy the puzzles found in platform and adventure games...etc...

@frazzle00 It's not MY preferance. As you saw I used the aggregated reviews on gamerankings to demonstrate it. Upscaled versions of any console games do count aslong as they cannot be found anywhere else because they were/are full blown releases. God Of War and Team ICO collections are exclusive to the Sony platform and are full blown releases; same as the Halo combat evolved and Halo 2 possible remake will be on Xbox. Subjectivity isn't an issue here. Everyone has personal opinions but professionals have there professional opinions that the majority of people generally agree with. I've used Gamerankings and Metacritic scores on exclusives and prequels to upcoming exclusives to take away subjectivity. One gamer can prefer Gears Of War 2 (based on Killswitch years ago) to Uncharted 2; however the professionals who have a valid opinion says otherwise (score-wise and award-wise).Our opinions mean nothing in the big picture whilst theirs do. Final Fantasy has had bad releases in the past. The games I listed haven't; there's always a first but the percentage is alot smaller seeing as they've aced it in the past.Chances of Gears Of War 3 and Uncharted 3 failing isn't far above 0%.

@frazzle00 One game I urge you to play in the near future is Project Dark. It's the spiritual sequel to Demon's Souls and is also coming to 360 apparantly; that's what the trailer suggests. If Demon's Souls was anything to go by, Project Dark will be superb.

@frazzle00 As I said, I'm open to a better suggestion. Limbo's take 3-6 hours to complete. If I bought any game from a shop for 40 quid and that was the play time I got out of it, I'd want my money back. That's not a full release..... Limbo wasn't released to compete with the likes of Mass Effect 2 or Red Dead Redemption; it was released to compete with the other arcade titles hence why it's so popular because it's the best of the bunch.There's subjectivity and then there's madness. Fallout, Demon's Souls, Assassins Creed..etc... all take on the upside of 30 hours to complete where you can easily run over 100 hours without doing things you've already done. You clearly haven't played LBP 2. The customiasable tools are far more advanced, so much so it's both 2d and 3d levels you can create or download. Downloading is made easier now with an all new ratings and search system. You needn't ever make a level because there are literally millions to download. "You can make a pretty impressive list of exclusives on either platform" Really?. Gears Of War 3 and Forza 4 certainly but all the rest aren't that great. Codename Kingdom will likely be good because Crytek have alot of pedigree. The rest of the games you mentioned won't have a big impact on the system much like White Knight Chronicles, Haze and 3D Dot game Heroes don't on PS3. All the games I've listed (or prequels) have had solid reviews and solid sales.We all have our preferances but come on! You've implied multiple times that I only own a PS3. That's not true, I have all 3 systems, so these conversations we are having are not me trolling or defending the platform I own but rather just genral debating.

@Phatjam98 If I had to choose my personal favourites from that list it would have to be: Gran Turismo 5 Uncharted 3 Little Big Planet 2 God Of War 3 Heavy Rain Demon's Souls Metal Gear Solid 4 Team ICO Collection Last Guardian I have to be honest though, I'm not that big on Uncharted.

@frazzle00 Yeah I know, the 360 is my system and has been for many years now. I'm not a huge Gears fan but 3 could be cool. XCom was a blast from the past, I'll have to see how it comes out. Project Draco looks sick as well as Rise of Nightmares but I also love Sega above all else. I just continue to have problems justifying spending money on a PS3 with its limited library that appeals too me. I feel like with the exception of 3 or 4 titles I get what I want and more out of the 360 or the PC. We will have to see how the year plays out but from what I can tell, the PS3 is at best finally trying to match what the 360 has been giving us in recent years. I dont see a shift of power this year, but maybe a bit of balancing. We'll see if there is a must have game that emerges from the PS3 mess but so far not really looking like it.

@MEDzZ3RO I have to say on that list, LBP2, Uncharted series and Heavy Rain are the only ones of intrest. I'm glad someone finally stated games that are gonna be PS3 exclusives but I,personally am not fully impressed with that list. Definetly not anything that makes me feel I "Have" to go spend $300 on the system alone. I'll keep my eye out though.

@frazzle00 i see you are big on the "mind your own opinion", and i guess youre right, but you are taking it a bit far, because many many players love lbp, and would take rdr or me2 over limbo any day. i also think you saying you wouldnt is an untruthfull comment just for the sake of argument. also, please dont judge me and say "i should ease up on gaming". you dont know anything about me except that i prefer ps3 (my opinion). you dont know that although im not very old i have been following video games for a long time, and that still i manage to be a great student and play rep soccer. i also play chess.

@Phatjam98 I'll list notable games out this year only first: Little Big Planet 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Infamous 2, Uncharted 3, The Last Guardian, Team ICO Collection, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Motorstorm: Apocalypse,Socom 4,DC Universe Online (on PC too),Yakuza 4 (big in Japan),Agent (new exclusive IP by Rockstar) and alot of HD classic trilogies (Tomb Raider, Prince Of Persia, Splinter Cell,Jak and Daxter..etc..). I'm tempted to add Mass Effect 2 on this list just because it's a huge release for any system. Another notable release is the "sequel" to Demon's Souls called Project Dark. Games already on the system I haven't mentioned at all (won't mention prequels): Heavy Rain, God Of War 1,2 and 3,MGS4,MAG,Warhawk, Gran Turismo 5 and Modnation Racers.

@frazzle00 I never said who's methodology was fairer. I said mine was unless someone came out with a better way which nobody has. Limbo's a great game but it's not a full game and is scored accordingly; are you suggesting Limbo is as good a game as Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption and will keep you entertained for as long? Arcade titles are arcade titles designed in their respective field as new games but not full blown releases. LBP is millions of games in one and has never ending amount of levels and content, Limbo is a "what you see is what you get"; in LBP 2 you could almost recreate Limbo, obviously not with the same visual style but LBP is also renowned for that. That's however besides the point, Limbo isn't a full retail release.

I know, noone will actually give me names of titles. But I just looked through all of the new release titles thru the first and second quarters of this year and I dont see all these amazing exclusive titles that the PS3 guys are talking about. I'm a hardcore gamer and if there were to be a bunch of amazing titles going only to PS3 I would be interested in picking one up. But I dont see them. LBP2 just came out and that is of great intrest too me. But KillZone 3 dosn't blow me away and other than those two I dont see anything else at all. And my big argument not to get a PS3 has been that there are not enough great or even good games for that system specially at its price point. So can anyone give me this list of games I can check out? As the new release lists fill out its seems more and more like this is just alot more "This is the year of the PS3" talk. Everything that comes out on PS3 is comming out on 360 from what I see.

@frazzle00 Once it's done, it's done though. Take some time do something else, grab a bite, go shopping, whatever. It at least doesn't interrupt my gameplay. That's just me, I think it's better not to have to swap and as primarily a PC gamer, I'm used to installs.

But there is more to blu-ray than just not having to swap discs. Like I said before, more space for higher resolution textures, better audios, etc. The annoying factor on swapping discs or having to install varies from person to person, I get that, but more room for data is just generally a better thing to have for other things.

@ frazzle00 You're right about that.Anytime someone says,"Fact: X is better than Y" they're just stating an opinion,and really need to just leave other people alone..If they say,"Fact: Product X is selling (blank) units more than Product Y,then that is truly a fact.That's basically all this article is doing.It shows simple cold hard numbers,and my problem is that people just can't grasp that.Sales are not a ruler for what is "best" or most fun.There is no such thing as "best".There is best selling,but not "best" as that is an opinion,and what you think i most fun is what is "best" for you,whether it sells one unit or 1 billion units.Who cares as long as you're having fun.

@digi-demon Data transfer speed is the bigger issue for installing or loading a game on PS3 Blu-Ray. If the amount of game data is equal a Xbox 360 12x DVD is always faster than a PS3 2x Blu-Ray. Even though Blu-Ray has a larger capacity the PS3 doesn't load the entire disk content to RAM each time you play. PS3 RAM is limited to 384MB so it impossible to load 50GB of Blu-Ray data to RAM, and you really would not want to wait for that load each time. New game data is loaded from disk to RAM as needed to keep the game moving, add new textures, levels, etc.

hannify is correct. In computers and consoles from fastest to slowest. 1.CPU 2.Cache 3.Ram 4.Harddrives 5.Any consumer optical drive is slowest. (DVD, Blu-Ray) Big fast harddrives allow for installs to limit load times from optical. After install the DVD or Blu-Ray is basically a key to prove you are a legitimate owner. I don' believe game play loading from PS3 Blu-Ray is impossible, but I don't think you would be happy with performance. Install wait once; load from Blu-Ray wait everytime you play.

@RadicalToenail No problem. You are correct I was a little general about Blu-Ray speed, but I was responding to a question about PS3 install times being slow so PS3 Blu-Ray was implied.

So, can't PS3 run games properly without an Install? is it because of 'its' slow cheaper Blu-Ray? or is it because of extra data?

Jeez.I came back just to see if anyone had anything to say about my comments,and I had to go all the way back to page 6 to find em.The first 5 are filled with "PS3 has (insert outlandish number here) exclusives!" "No 360 has (insert another outlandish number here) better exclusives!" "Reviewers say 85% blahblahblah...." "Here is a list of games that blah blah blah" Darn people these are SALES figures! Simple numbers of consoles sold!How in the world does such a fanboy war start over this? A real gamer would just be happy games and consoles are still selling,totally blow off the opinions of analysts,and play games they like without telling everyone else what games they should like and play and how lame they are for having different taste than them. These flame wars really grind my nerves.It gets hard to find comments with any real meaning anymore.I hope some people get the meaning of this one.

@frazzle00 I'd considered the HD projector option a few years ago, but the space in our living room isn't optimal for a projector. If we buy a house in the next 6-8 months, I may look into that again. I'll admit, a racing game such as Need for Speed Hot Pursuit would be ridiculous on that big of a screen. Very nearly eye bleeding!

@RadicalToenail Not consistantly; I didn't use this word. I used currently which is accurate right now. You can't definatively say which system has the best games period because games are always releasing however you can define it at a certain point in time as in now.Based on what both systems are releasing this year I wouldn't think the results will change this time next year because Sony are releasing considerably more games with high expectations (Uncharted 3,Killzone 3, Resistance 3,Infamous 2..etc..) whilst the 360 has 2 big releases: Forza 4 and Gears 3 which will also score highly. I'm basing there possible scores on past releases success. Thanks for wishing me a good birthday; I'm going out tonight to celebrate it; I had work this morning so couldn't have an all nighter.

@frazzle00 It's inaccurate because it's based of of 1 review and not the collective opinions of many. It would fit my supposed goal because it's a PS3 game, not a 360 game. You seem to think I've made sure results came out the way they did but I couldn't of done seeing as I used another persons suggested percentage to prove the point again. Indie titles and full blown releases so their scores are given on the basis of what other arcade titles there are in the market. There scores would be less if they were full price releases. Although Limbo, Super Meat Boy and Wipeout HD are good games nobody in their right mind would pay full price for them. My methodolgiy's best unless anyone comes up with a better way without sacrificing it's fairness. 30 is a number I averaged; Big games get 60 reviews and little games get 1; the core average is 30. I don't need to save it for someone who know's less more for someone who listens. On the subject of projectors, I considered it but found I wouldn't have a wall space that would be free of people crossing over it; I also found unless you fork out a large amount of cash on one quality isn't tha great. It worked out cheaper to buy a 50inch HD TV what with prices dropping on Tvs now.

@PixelAddict I used to game on a Sony Bravia 46in, but recently upgraded to a 55in Toshiba 120hz Regza, which looks really nice with the 360/PS3, and I put the 46in in the room. It's not a XBR model, but it has performed wonderfully, and lasted about 5 years also.I've been really happy with Sony products and hopefully this Toshiba will last me a while also. It's good to see all three of these console makers doing good in the industry, which shows you that there is room to go around. Heck, I even would buy a Dreamcast 2 if it entered the gaming market. I bet it would sell out fast, but hopefully they could support it longer than their last 2 efforts.
