Microsoft's most recent round of price cuts for the Xbox 360 yielded results for the gamemaker. Following on from the cross-SKU cuts that saw the Arcade model drop to $199, the 60GB Pro to $299, and the 120GB Elite to $399, the console sold like gangbusters compared to a month prior, with September sales spiking a full 78 percent. A good deal, then, appears to be just the thing to spur sales.
Enter Sam's Club. The Wal-Mart-owned wholesale outlet this week teased a new $349 Xbox 360 bundle aimed at attracting new consumers to the HD-gaming era. As outlined in the company's official blog, the bundle will include the midrange Xbox 360 Pro, as well as Lego Indiana Jones, Kung Fu Panda, and Guitar Hero III with guitar.
Sam's Club expects to introduce the bundle at its stores in mid-November. Elsewhere, gamers can pick up a similar Xbox 360 bundle, sans the Guitar Hero pack-in, for $299.
If only there were some way you could sell unwanted games, or perhaps trade them for store credit. Oh well, I guess if it's in the bundle, not only do you have to keep Kung Fu Panda, you are required to finish it.
what they didnt mention is that you also get a free can of beans with the bundle! Free beans, people! Now hurry up to your local Sam's Club and demand your free can of beans and also your Xbox bundle.
That's a really phenomenal deal. The mid tier system with ghwt, a guitar, and the 2 other games that are great for families and you may have successfully taken a piece of Wii market share! I can personally say I know FAMILIES that would buy this in a second over a Wii. Not to knock it around, Wii is a pretty awesome family machine but the point is that now the family-minded Christmas shopper has another choice.
I was going to say that this looked week until I saw the Guitar Hero 3 w/ guitar. Sounds pretty sweet. If I didn't already have a 360 (and Rock Band) I'd be interested in this
bargain! what a great bundle for the kids to start their 360 life Everyones whos got a problem with kung-fu panda being in this bundle waaaaahhhh! This bundle is not for you, its quite obviously made for the younger generations... go play your exsorbeo
sams always has cheap deals. even new video games are less than $60. but the 360 and guitar hero alone make it worth it.
Cool. xbox w/ hard drive, GH III w/ guitar, even if the other 2 games are not the best, it's a great deal (if they last long).
especially goo for kids will attract the parents with younger kids, also gives the big kids something to play so its kinda like something for everyone.Lego Indiana is a good laugh from what i played and it goes down well with the younger kids.Dunno bout Kung-fu panda so i cant comment. But GH3 jackpot even though 4 is looming its stil a good game to get you started on your 360 collection. im not a 360 owner myself but i would probably find myself buying this is they done something similar even though i own GH3 on PS3 and PS2 xD.
The Elite was $299 with a instant coupon like 2 weeks ago at a site you may or may not heard of called Dell.com. Free shipping. Saved myself a few bucks on gas too. Beat that costco.
Damn, that was the price of my 360, I don't want to add the money I spent on Guitar Hero too...it would make me sad.
"Dude why do you even try to say things like that. I look at your profile, allllll your games are PS3/PS2. We all know that you are a huge sony fanboy who cant accept the fact that he spent more money and got less. I can admit it, why cant you. you know this is a great deal and if you wana cry and whine about it then fine just dont post your crap on the internet." Well I can tell that you didn't really look because although most of my games are from the PS2, I have WAY more Wii/DS games than PSP/PS3 games. So I'm NOT a Sony fanboy (I still hate them for E3 '06, but their games are just too fun). Honestly, the 360 interests me very little for 4 key reasons. 1. Majority of the titles are Shooters/RPGs/Sports games. 2. Overpriced hard drives 3. No built in Wifi 4. ummm... I don't have a 4th reason lol. But most (almost all) of my friends have 360s and a couple of them are REALLY annoying Xbots and I don't want to turn into that.
That's an awesome deal. Guitar Hero w/guitar is about $75 along. The other 2 games are probably worth about $30ea now, so your getting a XBox 360 pro for about $215. Sweeeeeet!! I think these bundles will sell pretty well. They should have included a different game instead of Kung Fu Panda though.
I think this is a great deal. You get like 2 crappy games but one good game. The good game, being GHIII, alone costs $70. The bundle is $50 more than the console alone so you basically saved like 20 bucks.
gnbfd Posted Oct 24, 2008 11:47 pm GMT 1 good game 1 ok game 1 bad game 1 terrible system Yep. I'm totally buying... Dude why do you even try to say things like that. I look at your profile, allllll your games are PS3/PS2. We all know that you are a huge sony fanboy who cant accept the fact that he spent more money and got less. I can admit it, why cant you. you know this is a great deal and if you wana cry and whine about it then fine just dont post your crap on the internet.
WOW... that sounds like a great deal... Hmmmm... any deals on a bigger hard drive? my 20GB is almost full.
lol at game bundle ... poor kid who gets this ... coulda spent the extra 60$ and had his parents buy him a GOOD game....
snarple_basic: The Pro has always come standard with a HDD. It used to be 20GB but that has been replaced with 60GB.
there is a reason why there has been such a surplus in sales with the 360. Great deal after great deal
Looks like a good deal, anyone know if there is a HDD in that package, tried to see it but seems hard to tell.
