Ubisoft bundling tomahawk-wielding Connor statue, colonial flag, and belt buckle in premium pack for consoles; PC gamers get $65 Deluxe Edition with extra missions.
Gamers looking to bring Assassin's Creed III hero Connor into their homes in a new way this fall can pick up the $120 Assassin's Creed III Limited Edition, due out on October 30 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America. This premium offering packs in a number of items, the first of which is a 9.44-inch Connor statue, which depicts the killer with a tomahawk and a hidden blade.
Also included in the Assassin's Creed III Limited Edition for consoles is an embroidered 28x48-inch Assassin's Creed-inspired colonial flag. Additionally, the premium bundle includes a metal belt buckle.
Ubisoft has not forgotten PC gamers, as the firm announced today the Assassin's Creed III Digital Deluxe Edition for Windows machines. It will include three single-player missions, which take players to Cozumel Island in search of lost treasure. Additionally, the premium pack includes a mock George Washington notebook, which includes details on his journey during the American Revolution.
In addition, the Assassin's Creed III Digital Deluxe version bundles the Captain of the Aquila's uniform and traditional Colonial Assassin in-game outfits, as well as in-game items like a boarding axe and Scottish flintlock for use in the game's single-player campaign.
Lastly, the premium PC offering packs in the sharpshooter and redcoat characters for use in Assassin's Creed III's multiplayer component and a collection of audio tracks from past Assassin's Creed games. No images of the limited edition or digital deluxe version were released.
Ubisoft made no mention regarding whether the missions and items in the digital deluxe version of Assassin's Creed III will be made available to those who do not purchase the top-tier Windows bundle or the premium console game. As of press time, Ubisoft had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.

No sale for me, i'll go with the bare bones game. Pay $120 for a LE, or buy two games...i'll take two games instead. Maybe if the LE also came with an artbook, soundtrack, in game content,or something else i might buy it. I paid $60 for the Starhawk LE and got a buttload of extra stuff. $120 is a bit much when all i wanna do is play a game.

There's the Freedom edition, which comes with the same figurine, medal, and in-game content. Only thing it doesn't have is a flag. But it's ALOT cheaper.

1 Like Like almost ANY other big game CE, the price will fall in a few months as the huge boxes are taking up shelf space and retailers mark them way down.
If the CE isn't "Limited " with an edition size it will NOT go up in value, like Halo 3, Bioshock 2, Mortal Kombat, the previous Assassin's Creed. You can find these for a lot cheaper a few months down the road, or even Ebay for pieces of the CE (IE if you just want the statue).
Be smart, just buy the game and wait if you want the CE.

The $65 bundle with extra missions is a good deal. The $120 bundle will go down to $70 on some online sale a 5-6 months after launch (happened with Skyrim).

HOnestly, most of these CE are garbage. I love games as much as the next guy, but when was the last time you really needed any of that xtra stuff that comes with it? Usually, it's an art book, maybe a bonus CD with "the making of", and then some weird/odd paraphenilia that has no significant use. It would be one thing if these cost an additional 10-20$, but a 60$ mark up is outrageous.
I'm convinced that the ASIII CE would have cost $80-$100 if not for the ridiculously early and undeserved hype the game has received thanks to frothing fanboys and the mainstream gaming journalism elite.
Look at the 3DS, that also was overpriced thanks to the same frothing hype from fanboys and the gaming media.

Wow...they come up with a good collector's edition and make it PC digital-exclusive. The $120 console version doesn't sound like it's worth the money AT ALL. The European versions sound much better.

3 Like I actually love this kinda stuff. I've got the Skyrim collector's edition with the Alduin statue, artwork book, and making of DVD. AAA titles like these don't come that often so I enjoy paying a bit more for the "Super Awesome Elite" edition. October is a big month I'm saving up for anyway with Assassin's Creed III, AC3: Liberation, and Resident Evil 6.
I love this stuff too, i just can't afford it if i want to play all the games i'm interested in playing. With bills to pay and a Family to support, i have to make my gaming money go a long way. I wanted that Skyrim CE so bad, but had to settle with just the game.
WTF is up with all these statues in collectors editions lately. Guess people are fascinated with specially shaped painted plastic.
1 Like @Lotus-Edge Touche. I would be willing to buy a digital deluxe version, for $10 extra, but there is absolutely no way I'd pay that much for a statue that is just going to sit around. I'd have more fun with the statue by breaking it into millions of pieces with a hammer...
This game looks dumb. I'm so over assassins creed. No assassin in history ever jumped from tree branch to tree branch in the snow. BTW anyone willing to spend $100+ on a game that will cost $20 in 11 months, and a statue made in China, is a fool. They hold zero value, except personal enjoyment, until you grow up, then its garbage. UBER dorks. I never troll, but I thought I'd leave a discouraging message on this one!

Normally I'd consider getting the Limited Edition. I did just that with Assassin's Creed and AC II but ended up selling the statues anyway and buying NECA or Play Arts figures instead.

3 Like Don't hate me but in defence of this price those statues do usually cost around $40- $80 big ones. I still wouldn't get it but it's just the truth.
I have seen the statue on there website like two months ago being released in only europe it looks really nice but and I do want it but there is no way I can dish out $120 bucks for one game right now.

7 Like i for one usually love collector's edition of my favorite games, but that was when they were usually just an extra 20 bucks and came with a nice artbook or bonus DLC... but this just seems like junk, the steelbook for pre-ordering was nice tho, but this CE stuff does not = 60 dollars extra value.
