Assassin's Creed III 'Battle Hardened' DLC out now

Second expansion for Ubisoft's action game now available on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live for $10, or free with season pass.

Assassin's Creed III has added new downloadable content. The multiplayer-focused Battle Hardened Pack is now available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network and is free for those with a $30 DLC season pass. Otherwise, the content is available for $10.

The Battle Hardened Pack for Assassin's Creed III includes three new multiplayer maps (Charlestown, Fort St-Mathieu, and Saint Pierre) as well as a trio of characters, including the Governor, the Highlander, and the Coyote Man.

No mention was made concerning a release for the PC and Wii U versions of Assassin's Creed III.

The Battle Hardened Pack follows December's "Hidden Secrets" DLC, which brought three new missions and unlockable weapons to Assassin's Creed III. Add-on content still in the pipeline is the three-part Tyranny of King George expansion.

Assassin's Creed III launched worldwide on October 30, selling 3.5 million units during its launch week and 7 million copies as of last month. For more, check out GameSpot's review.

This is the reason why I didn't bother buying the Season Pass for DLC. I don't care about multiplayer-focused DLC. I've always found story-based DLC to be more my thing.

@AlexFili You think? They are having issues with the skins for PC players atm but they've been caught so many times where Ubi devs are using the new skins for their characters. Making a DLC for PC sounds way harder than skins to be honest.

I really don't see why they just don't charge more money, maybe a hundred dollars for these DLCs--FOR THIS GAME!!--since M-games are catering to an addicted audience...I mean, if the fools want to get addicted in the first place...MIGHT AS WELL REAM THEM!

I want to add my voice to the masses just in case UBISOFT is listening.  Multiplayer in AC? Boring.  If I wanted to play multiplayer, I would play Halo or COD or any other number of finely crafted MP games.  AC doesn't need it... I tried it, and it just seems kind of silly.  I'd much rather that effort was put toward the single player campaign and story.  Of course, when you pump out games in a series like you guys are doing, its only a matter of time before things start going down hill.

@pip3dream I havent played AC3 yet, but the multiplayer in AC:B and AC:R is amazing and is the singlebest multiplayer that was clipped on to a single player game that we've seen (better than the awful bioshock, dead space or even uncharted's which was decent)  AC multiplayer is amazing BECAUSE it is not halo and not call of duty. It rewards SMART players rather than mindless, button-mashing, suicidal kamikazes.

Never bought DLC for any of the Assassin's Creed games. I feel like it isnt worth it. The game is great without them. Also multiplayer is terrible. Take it off next game.

I'd rather wait for more single player DLC. I'm not even remotely interested in the multiplayer. $10 for 3 maps and 3 characters is kind of a ripoff anyway.

Too bad I was done with the game after the story. When I say done, I don't mean completed, I mean done-done. I pulled out the disc, put it in the box, and tossed it out the window.

@Hey_Jay Ya me too. I couldn't wait to finish it, just so I could have an informed opinion about it and then uninstalled the crap!

I have no problem with expansions, but I get a little turned off when they come out so close to the game's release.

@petez34 The singleplayer was only terrible because people want a conclusion to an already dragged out story. (The whole end of the world thing)

@SergioMX sorry. I'm not buying what your selling. I don't know why Ubi claimed they worked on this for years (?) and wrote the ending over a lunch break! But the whole getting more people playing Mp sort of makes sense.

@petez34  Well said about the ending being written over a lunch break. 5 year/5 game story and it's over in 5 minutes.

@DarthLod ...all it simply is, is a discount on future DLC...none of the DLC is exclusive to the season pass holders. It's only for those who are willing to risk if the DLC will be worth it, kinda like pre-ordering.

I wish they would have taken the time to make a proper (10+minutes) ending sequence with Desmond instead of wasting their time with this DLC. AC3 must have the most rushed Ending in the history of gaming (especially considering the intro takes about 5 hours).

Ubisoft should be worse company of the year, delays after delays when it comes to PC product. Still no sp/multiplayer patch for PC.

Id much rather have a company push back a release and make it a worth release than a rushed port.

@Shango4 So PC players are the worse for being upset with having to wait months for a patch that console players got the first week? Really? Do you think this is the first time PC players are neglected and having to wait +6 months for patches or DLC's when it comes to ubisoft? All products should be equal in terms of what they provide or should they not? Are you aware of how much the PC players are missing out compared to the console players atm? Did you even pay & play AC:B/R? Yea Ubisoft should be a contestant about worse company of the year award.

JohnC2211
JohnC2211

@Shango4  @damiger They should support PC players more because it's so much easier to pirate PC games than it is for consoles.  If they don't support PC players, PC players are more likely to pirate.

@JohnC2211  @Shango4  @damiger Umm...what a good argument to your cause..."we'll steal your product if you don't support us!". That will surely gain you prominence in life.
