Assassin's Creed III, Ghost Recon: Final Mission outed for Vita

UK retailers post listings for Vita versions of Assassin's Creed 3 and unannounced Ghost Recon title; both titles listed to be due this year.
Retailers GAME UK and Zavvi.com have outed two unannounced Ubisoft PlayStation Vita titles, detailed for release later this year.
GAME UK posted a listing (since removed) for an unannounced Ghost Recon Vita game, titled Ghost Recon: Final Mission.
For its part, Zavvi.com posted a listing (still active) for Assassin's Creed 3 Vita, a title that Ubisoft confirmed in August last year, but gave no further details on, or timeframe for, its release.
Ghost Recon: Final Mission came with a release date of "TBC 2012" and a price of £34.99 (A$54.80). Assassin's Creed III for the Vita was listed with a release date of October 31 at a price of €39.55 (A$49.52).
If confirmed, Ghost Recon Vita will be the third game in the franchise this year, alongside the just-released Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and the upcoming free-to-play shooter for the PC and Wii, Ghost Recon Online.
In April, Ubisoft detailed the Ghost Recon Network, a new service for mobile devices and browsers that will let players tinker with the game while on the go, as well as customize weapons and share them with the community. Players will also be able to view heat maps of levels, track leaderboard performance, and earn unlocks for Future Soldier. The publisher said the Ghost Recon Network "will support all Ghost Recon titles."
GameSpot contacted Ubisoft for comment, but the publisher returned a "no comment" response.

It's actually nice to see an article telling us that something might be going to come out for the Vita, instead of telling us that something won't be. I do however feel a bit the same way as some of the guys below, in that I'd prefer a Vita exclusive AC title rather than a console port. If ACIII on Vita ends up looking/playing hugely inferior to the main consoles, then it will only harm the Vita's reputation, not enhance it.
a true gamer never argue i have pc, ps3 and xbox 360 and i enjoyed them both and soon i will be picking up the vita because its the most powerful handheld right now and a message to u guys please stop the fighting because it won't solve a dam thing because the company are still making money and don't give a crap if u argue or not
2 Like I really like the idea of having the ability to play full-scale console-quality games on a handheld, but I don't see myself paying twice for the same version of the game on two separate platforms just for the privilege of "gaming on the go."
I think some of these games would be better if the Vita version augmented the console version in some way--a parallel storyline, auxiliary characters, side quests, etc. I know that would be a lot harder for developers than a straight port, but it would be a nice consideration.
Having said that, I'm excited about the arrival of both these games.
2 Like Personally, I'd rather have a standalone Assassins Creed on Vita rather than a port of AC3. But it's still really cool that they can take a beautiful game like this and bring it to a smaller, portable system. That new Ghost Recon also sounds good, too.
Damn, I'm happy I bought a Vita.
vita is on it's way with this. give it another year to see if it is still worth picking up
1 Like The AC3 one comes at little surprise. The VITA is a mini-PS3, and considering the fact the resolution is much lower would result in an inferior game technically, but will play all the same as the consoles anyway.
Impressive, but why? If I would want to play AC3, I would play it where it belongs-- On a PC/Home Console. They should maek something like Bloodlines, only better. It doesn't even need to relate to the main storylnie of Desmond. Bloodline didn't, still a decent game.
I agree with you on that, but maybe it will only be titled Assassin's Creed 3. It could very well just say Vita edition somewhere on the cover, and then have an alternate story line that ties into the console version.
@BKILL96 But you , I , spartan , and pretty much everyone else knows that it will be a port (more likely than not with touch controls shoe-horned in). If it were a unique title it probably wouldn't be titles AC3.
@supertom221 How is a mini-PS3 a bad thing? It is the best handheld console ever because of that.

I want a VITA for VITA games, not games for a console I already own.
@theonlylolking What he's saying is that if it's trying to be the same as the PC/console versions, there's not much incentive to buy the Vita version instead.
Portable games are best when they offer something unique from the other platforms.

Ok, ok, I bow down to you people, that want the Vita to be a handheld that just gets ports. I just hoped to play something else on the go, rather than the same game I'm playing at home on the big screen. I just hoped that we would get more games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, looks like I'm buying AC3 on a console (Not gonna name which one, because you fanboys would get FURIOUS, even though you aren't involved in my life.), and Resistance: Burning Skies, Gravity Daze on the Vita.
@joujou264 I'm getting it for the Wii U too, don't worry. It'll probably play better anyway. More RAM.

So far, it looks like Resistance, and Gravity Daze are going to be the only games I'm going to purchase this year. I'm really starting to question my purchase, and thinking about getting a 3DS (Come at me Sony drones, I ain't afraid of you shallow minded dick faces.). BTW, why isn't Capcom releasing those RE games for Vita too? Capcom seems like a company that would do anything to get money into their pockets. Shame on you Sony, not only did you betray me, by saying I could use the shop (It's not enabled in my country.), but you also just release ports. Really not looking forward to the PS4, if Sony continues to be like this. No wonder they have financial problems...
@joujou264 Maybe I should remind you of Nintendo's launch window and following months of the 3DS launch. It was terrible. Ports of games everyone has played 10 times over, and the majority were worse off than on the original system(s) due to the lower 3DS specs(Aliasing, feel thy sting). And the launch games were meh. Whereas the Vita launched with several actual decent games and a few awesome ones. Also, I fail to see the connection to the Vita port machine on an article about a simultaneous release of a game for a different system and a new Ghost Recon title. Seems to me you just wanted flame bait.

@fullChargered Though, I don't have a time machine to go back to the launch. By now, there are loads of good games on it, even the indie shop of the 3DS has found some gems. But, even though the Vita had a pretty good launch, after that, there was basically NOTHING, and as far as I can see the Resistance game, and Gravity Daze are the only major titles coming out for it this summer, possibly year. But, I don't really want AC3 on my Vita, I'll play AC3 on a console or PC, I hope that it's at least not a complete port, with no Vita features, other than pesky touchscreen/tilt controlls. Also, we don't know if that Ghost Recon title is a Vita exclusive. And I'm not that particularly interseted in Ghost Recon anymore, it went down the road of ''attract CoD morons'', not saying all the CoD players, but the ''gunz, boobz, booze'' CoD fans. Do you get me now?

I was with you until that part. You can't be so stupid as to think SONY is just a gaming company, right?? PlayStation is just ONE product of the many SONY has. And believe it or not, they have actually been earning from it.
It's the other divisions they fail in. Once pioneers of Music players, their sales plummet to nothing. They aren't cheap, they aren't the best choice, and the Smartphones and iPods and all that pummeled their sales in the music industry.
As far as movies go, they haven't licensed a good movie since Spiderman 2 honestly.
Not many companies can take a heavy loss like SONY did and still stay afloat.

@PeterDuck Not exactly, there are emotionally unstable people, that aren't tough guys, even on the Internet. And if I show that I know about the dislike of Nintendo products from Sony drones, then they have to find something else, to constantly nag about. It's sort of like the wife of someone, saying to her husband to shut up, even before he has spoken. Of course, this isn't a bulletproof tactic to prevent conflict with Sony drones, as it is a primitive technique.
I can name another example, but this time, from the animal kingdom. If a zebra spots a lion, about to attack, then the lion has 2 options, attack, or let the zebras flee.
I know, this sounds cheesy, but it's worked for me before. And seeing as you aren't a Sony drone, according to you, again, no Sony drone has started a annoying conversation, with no real point behind it.
