Best Buy staging massive $4.99 game clearance
ESPN Football, Freedom Fighters, and Jet Set Radio Future are among the titles discounted by the retail chain. However, most titles were sold out by day's end.
Cash-poor (is there any other kind?) gamers looking to beef up their collections are in luck. Best Buy is staging a massive clearance sale, selling dozens of games for just $4.99. A call to the San Francisco Best Buy confirmed that the sale was indeed in effect, and that the games on sale were marked as such.
Online deal site Bytesizedeals.com has compiled a list of games reportedly on sale, although Best Buy officials would not confirm all of the titles. "You'll have to come down here," said the sales associate contacted by GameSpot, who also indicated the sale titles were mixed in with regularly priced games.
Many $4.99 games are also listed on the Best Buy site, though most were already sold out as of press time. Reports of empty shelves at Best Buy retail outlets grew increasingly common throughout the day. Consumers should call their local Best Buy to confirm title availability.
