BioWare planning 'much more' Mass Effect 3 DLC

Yesterday's free Extended Cut downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 will not be the final add-on for the space-bound role-playing game. Producer Mike Gamble teased additional content for the game last night through Twitter, saying the developer is planning "much more."
"Would now be a good time to talk about how we're doing more DLC in the future? That was a trick question. We'll save the future DLC for future chats," he said. "Don't worry though…there's much more."
Previous Mass Effect 3 DLC includes the launch-day From Ashes content, as well as the Resurgence and Rebellion multiplayer packs, which were released in April and May, respectively. Mass Effect 3 launched in March to a warm critical reception and sales of 1.3 million in the United States alone.
After Mass Effect 3's launch, fans cried out over the game's endings. In April, BioWare officially addressed the situation, saying it would offer free Extended Cut DLC that would bring "deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes," but offer no new endings. This content is available today for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in most territories, though European PlayStation owners will have to wait until July 4.

regarding the multiplayer... I'm a level 11 soldier, I downloaded those 2 multiplayer packs, are they PURELY more maps? or are there weapons and equipment packs? I couldn't tell when I played last night as I haven't played the MP much. but for some reason I still can't get any new guns, how do you get new guns?
I'll buy the DLC :) just because its the end of the story doesnt mean there isnt other stories to play with.
Besides, I'm hoping to actually see female krogans outside of their masks, and female salarians without hoods and in greater numbers.. as well as fem turians, batarians, drell, volus and elcor.
Also perhaps something that actually makes ME2 worth playing. Its not even connected to the series at all.
Hopefully we get to fight some regular humans and aliens as opposed to their reaper variants. I like fighting cannibals and marauders and what not but there is nothing quite as satisfying as putting a well placed bullet between a human engineer after ripping apart their shields or blowing apart a salarian with the claymore. Also, am I the only person that misses morinth's dominate power?
Whomever buys any DLC after playing thru this is a sucker. I understood the DLC in 2, because we thought it would be relevant to the story on the series. Any DLC for ME3 still gets us to the same finality. Not interested in Multi, obviously. Looking forward to new ME games in the future.
Was about to say "wtfook how did I miss this?!?!" then I read to the end and 3 more days... Happy about this and it leaves me 3 days to kill this bastard colossus!!! (paying through Shadow of the Colossus, just incase no one got that...)
anyone already got the dlc and can tell me if it's just new stuff at the end or if it's spread throughout the whole game? because I was thinkin about replaying the whole game, but not sure if I can be arsed, thanks in advance.
1 Like @JimmeyBurrows Just the end, but the outcome for the krogan, geth, quarian and such still depends on what you did in the game.
1 Like New weapons, new missions and planets, and just maybe... someone gives the Normandy a damn mako again. :P They "introduced" the Hammerhead in ME 2 so why can't we magically find a mako for the ship? Seriously how many did they have at the ending? Hackett couldve easily had one ordered then sent to them. That's just my wish list any way.

Oh I definitely agree that the Extended Cut cutscenes should have definitely been in the game from the get-go. It's a shame it took a fan outcry to get them to do it :|
But yeah, that's precisely why I chose Synthesis to begin with (pre-Extended Cut), was because I had worked so hard for Synthetics (nurtured EDI to sentience and sided with the Geth), that I didn't want all that work to become meaningless.
But post-Extended Cut, when the "Solution AI" (SAI/little kid phantom) explained the choices I had, (for me) Destruction became a much less viable option, and I was almost persuaded to go for the control root. But I went with Synthesis after I realized that in both Destruction and Control scenarios, war could still break out between Synthetics and Organics.
In the end, after watching the final cutscenes, I felt I made the right choice. Shepard's death paved way for Organics to achieve a state of Utopia. No more illness, possibly no more death, no more war. Almost like Shepard's death granted everyone access to heaven.
Perhaps Bioware were going for a Biblical reference with the Synthesis ending?
1 Like @Vastano There is no right or wrong choice. This is why they made the game this way. It's up to your own personal interpretation. I chose Destroy, I felt it was the right choice on how I played the game. The Reapers really couldn't be controlled, and I wasn't going to play "God" and chance the races throughout the galaxy.
Like I said, it was your choice in the end. I am probably in the minority that I liked the way the 1st ending went. The whole Indoctrination Theory was a fun way to end the game. Notice I didn't say the series, but Shepards journey in the series. It's tIme to be Prothean ;)
@WarpedCore I think you've taken my comment completely out of context. First of all, I did state that I was voicing my opinion - although, I admit, it was in brackets and easily overlooked. Second, the following two quotes:
"There is no right or wrong choice" - I think you may have misread my comment, as I never said (nor implied) that there was a right/wrong choice.
"It's up to your own personal interpretation" - Exactly. My comment was me expressing my interpretation of the ending. For example, why I thought Destruction was a less viable option than before. I'll clarify a little on that:
(% = likelihood of me choosing one of the 3/4 endings)
Pre-Extended Cut:
Control 0%, Synthesis 70%, Destruction 30%
Post-Extended Cut:
Control 45%, Synthesis 50%, Destruction 5%, Refuse 0%
Post-Extended Cut, I was really torn with whether I should go for control or synthesis. After I exited the conversation with SAI, I actually stood in front of the 3 pathways for a time trying to decide.
By the way, I didn't really understand that last sentence you wrote xP
@Vastano Some people think that the Synthesis ending is similar to the beliefs of Jehovah's Witness.

Hahaha yeah you're right, being in a "spirit" kind of form is different than drawing breath. But the way I see it, he is now the "Solution" A.I (which I will refer to as SAI). So perhaps he can somewhat take semi-physical form like SAI did when it/he/she formed into a child.
That said, the way the Shepard-SAI spoke, it sounded like it was a merging of two consciousnesses. Almost like a synthesis that took place only between SAI and Shepard; but with Shepard being the more dominant of the two.

At this point after watching the extended endings of ME3 the only DLC Bioware could make is zombie shepard or something zombie based.

2 Like You can't even get a discussion going on the matter because the only real morons that are crying can't help but derail each and every comment thread with how upset they are people weren't happy with the original ending. Hypocritically telling people to 'get over it' or 'move on', though even BioWare has moved on at this point, and we're now addressing future DLC and the Extended Cut. At least talk about the damn game, or express what you liked about it, (because we already know what everyone doesn't) so we can talk about that, rather than outright bitching about the initial discontent.
4 Like I wish everyone would shut up about the ending already, i loved every minuter of every mass effect i've ever played except the ending but that was mostly because i didn't want it to be over...doesn't matter if it makes sense or not it was the story during the game that i loved
@reecen89 I never wanted the original Starr Wars trilogy to end, but everything does come to an end. Thank goodness Lucas doesn't have a "creative input" to the ME universe. Looking forward to what BioWare does next. Thanks to the most memorable series I have ever played!
5 Like we dont need more, the game ended, well kinda ended in a bad way. So after that dissapointing ending, i dont think anyone wasnts to revist the game.
@dakan45 I am pretty sure there are many who want more ME content. I don't know how an ending can ruin the whole series for you, but that is your opinion. I am quite happy with the extended endings. ME has a huge fan base and many would love to see the ME universe expanded.
A bad ending can color one's perception of the entire series. It's the same deal with direct prequels, we already know how the story ends.
@cdog21 I agree on prequels ruin something, but things happening afterwards don't make any difference to me... I disliked most of Final Fantasy X-2, but I still love X, easy just to ignore the bit after it went sour, lol.

3 Like It's hilarious to read the reactions from some of the people who claimed that they weren't asking for a fairy tale ending, but only more closure. Bioware gave us more closure with the EC, and yet, the very same people are now whining that they don't get a reunion scene with their love interest and crew. I guess they did want a fairy tale after all. Pathetic fools.
Let's see... Earth's infrastructure is non-existent. Millions, if not billions, have died on Earth alone. The Geth and EDI were killed. And you think it's a fairy tale ending because 1 couple in the galaxy reunite? The two other endings have no real sacrifice. For Control Ending, God-Shepard rebuilds everything via REapers and acts as galaxy police force to keep the peace and prevent organic genocide or, in Synthesis, everyone becomes immortal super beings with Reapers sharing knowlegde of countless cultures(i.e utopia). Where is the payoff for Destroy? In which you have to exterminate the Geth and kill EDI along with the reapers. But it doesn't have a complete feel since Shepard can survive, but it doesn't really confirm his fate. We can make assumptions, but after three games with this much character investment a "cliffhanger" is just lame to place at the end of a trilogy. I think Synthesis and Control are fine and wrap up sheaprd's story. Just not destroy which leave it up to the imagination. Just my 2 cents.

@001011000101101 well, it does set up a whole new story were the peolpe defeat the reapers for good, in the refuse ending the old woman and child are talking and thanking the shepard for leaving behind all the details that were needed to win.
Refuse cannot be justified. Too much effort was put into stopping the Reapers to just let them kill trillions when the means to stop them are right in front of you. The next cycle beats them?? Why wait til the next cycle when you could save trillions RIGHT NOW? Refuse is basically siding with Harbinger. Shepard betrays all galactic civilivation, everyone he knows and loves; condemning them all to an unnecessary death. I think Bioware was trolling fans who didn't like the ending choices :) "Don't want to choose from these 3? Then sit there like a lil beotch and let the reapers win."lol
@gix47 Yeah, but in that ending I believe what you see are the people alive thousands of years in the future after the previous civilisations got killed by the Reapers.
