Call of Duty: Black Ops gets Hardened, Prestige editions

Activision, being Modern Warfare 3's publisher, is showing the games multiplayer at the Call of Duty XP convention on September 2. All of the Modern Warfare 3 perks, weapons, maps will be shown there. MW3 is going to be great.

These are great for kids but I'm sorry, if you're buying collectable versions of video games as an adult you need to reassess yourself as a person.

Can i swap the rc for an electric train or something inflatable?

As cool as the RC car is, I think that if I had a choice, I'd go for the hardened edition because there's a medal I could show off for my love of video game collector editions (sorta) and the 4 zombie maps from World at War is with it. Considering that the Map pack bundle (cheapest on store or market) is $25 and the hardened edition is only $20 more, it's a pretty good deal.

im getting the hardend because the maps themself would be at least 10 - 15 bucks i dont know how cheap the medal is or if its good quality but i dont care that much but ya and the playstation home costume is a good include cause to buy something on playstation home is sooooooo expensive to buy the suit if it wasnt exclusive would cost like 5 - 10 bucks the rc looks cool and it is tempting to get but its just 2 much money mybe if it was like 100 bucks id get it but ya overall hardend looks like the best deal IN MY OPINION!!!!!!

@DanGleeSack I know, that is why World At War is my favorite because you can paint red the bodies of Japs, Nazis, and your buddies with rounds and you can blow off their limbs.

@aaronfhff123 world at war (also made by treyarch) had gore depending on the weapon you used. Higher caliber guns would shoot arms/legs off some guns and explosives would rip the guy in half. I hope this is similar it adds alot more to the game.

I hope this game isn't released all censored like MW2 where you shoot somebody in the face with an AA-12 and you see them fall over with their face intact. I see gore but I hope the gore is always available and not just there for certain moments of the game like in Moder Warfare when you shoot that dudes arm off but it's the only arm you can shoot off the whole game....that was so lame about MW and I hope they cut the crap.

i never have or ever will buy a special edition. I just want to play the game not have stupid collectibles.

@nemesi, what was in the legendary halo edition? also, does some one know know where i can get a better picture of the RC car in the prestige, something high resolution perhaps? i want to find out if the car is as cheap as it looks in the pictures ive seen, or made of sterner stuff.

remember this day that every "regular" special edition will now cost $80. car looks cool though, not worth 150 though. i stopped buying special editions after i got tricked into buying the legendary halo edition.

It's annoying how people are so harsh. This may be an RC car, but it's the coolest one I've ever seen. All of the RC cars in my day couldn't record video. I'm going for Hardened though, I wont ever spend more than $100 on a game after Halo 3.

ive read so many comments of people throwing away cod, well done dice victory to bad company 2!! no cod game can beat it, cod doesnt even generate the need of teamwork; that itself is very unrealistic

People complained the MW2 prestige edition and they still bought it, people are complaining this and some of them are still going to buy it! Why complain?

Pre ordered hardened edition today :) i just want the free original zombie maps that come with it :)

Activision is milking the franchise to death like they did with Guitar Hero, which no one wants to play anymore. I still have Halo Reach and Battlefield 2 and that's enough for now. With Fable 3 on the way, Madden 11 and Starcraft 2 just released and Zelda and Kirby Epic Yarn on the way, who has time?

so they r trying to get children to...play their games? i think thats alittle too late...they might as well throw in a book or map showing every glitch and camping spot in the game....better yet make a campers edition with the tent and sleeping bag and smores

i fine with hardened i wanted an RC car when i was a kid if i wanted to buy one i go to a hobby shop or something just so i know it won't break on me the first week i got it....

It is almost worth getting the Call of duty Black ops Prestige addition just for that Remote control video enable car thing. if only to screw around with it and post video's on Utube. This is like just getting a videogame and a RC video car. Which will be more fun the video RC recorder car or the videogame? This is worth the price for this special edition. If the game bombs you can still screw around and upload videos to the internet. Two "Toys" for $150.00 (Yes videogames are still considered "toys") I don't care how advanced Playstation & Xboxes become the are still "toys" and so is that Remote controlled car with the camera mounted on it. But people still have to have fun once and awhile. people are going to abuse that Video RC car thing. Utube will provide lots of evidence.

$150...... If I actually liked the series, I'd pick it up. It's not that bad a price considering the RC car w/video. Be prepared for the flood of Youtube videos filled with pranks involving said car.

New Headline. Activision to release game in 4 editions. First edition $60 for a quarter of the game. Second edition $80 for half the game and a collector pin. Third edition $120.....etc.....etc...etc..

It's crazy how greedy activision is. They want aalll of your money. 150$ for a game, rc car, maps.....stupid. If you want $150 from me give me 3 games!

An RC car? Are you kidding me? I barely even want to pay $60 for a new game and they think a freaking RC car will make people want to pay $150?

Maybe they could include a special limited edition Black Op's dartboard which has a tiny COD Black Ops logoat the top and a large picture of Bobby Kotick's face on it.

Since they are going to include "The Black Ops Toy Car" to woo the kiddie market, they should take the commercialisation of the franchise even further to help them rake in tonnes more cash by including other things that kids will enjoy such as "The Black Ops Whoopie Cushion" and "The Black Ops Plastic S--t".

I agree that the four maps not available unless you buy prestige or hardened is a bad move. But seriously why are there so many posts saying activision is ripping you off with it. this isn't the first game ever to give you exclusive maps with the limited edition, but I guess since those games arent from activision its not such a big deal? Dont give companies your money for DLC and they will get the picture. Don't blame a game company for cashing in on our decisions to pay so much for maps and characters. they use that money to keep making the games we all eventually complain about. If we want complete games again we need to stop buying post-release DLC and hurt the bottom line, with is the only things any business is really interested in.
