Delta Force: Black Hawk Down comes to the Xbox
Novalogic's military-themed first-person shooter is on its way to the Xbox.
Novalogic will bring its popular first-person shooter Delta Force: Black Hawk Down to the Xbox console--and the studio is bringing the Xbox version to E3 2004. The game originally appeared on the PC and took place in a near-future conflict in Somalia between an indigenous opposing force and the elite US Army division known as Delta Force. In the game, you played through a series of missions both on foot and in vehicles, like technicals (jeeps with mounted machine guns) and Black Hawk and Littlebird attack helicopters.
The Xbox version of the game will have all the features of the original PC game, including 16 single-player missions, vehicle shooting sequences (in which you ride on a vehicle and man a mounted gun), and group missions in which you'll be joined by computer-controlled allies. However, the Xbox version of the game will also feature support for Dolby Digital sound and 16:9 widescreen video. And more importantly, for multiplayer fans, the game will have all-new multiplayer options, including split-screen play for up to four players simultaneously and all-new multiplayer modes exclusive to the Xbox version. In addition, the Xbox version of Black Hawk Down will support online multiplayer, over Xbox Live, for up to 16 players, with support for voice chat.
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down for the Xbox is scheduled to ship this October.
